Worthing Wondering: Tutu Travels and Train Treats

Good morning, darlings! It's Emma here, your resident tutu-loving, pink-obsessed ballet enthusiast, reporting live from Worthing, where the sea breeze and the smell of fish and chips are already working their magic. I'm on a whirlwind adventure this week, a solo trip fueled by my passion for ballet and the desire to explore this beautiful little coastal town.

Today's post is dedicated to the joy of travel, the wonder of a black tutu, and the absolute delight of a good train journey.

Yesterday, I took a delightful trip on the Southern Rail - a vintage train car, no less! Honestly, you can't beat the charm of a good train journey. It’s so romantic! You get to sit by the window, watching the world whiz by while you lose yourself in a book or simply gaze at the fleeting scenery.

I decided to wear a simple but oh-so-stylish black tutu for the journey. Now, you all know that pink is my absolute favourite, but sometimes, you just crave a touch of dramatic darkness. And for the travel-by-train occasion, what better than a black tutu?

Black is such a chic colour. And don’t get me wrong, a black tutu is just as fabulous as a pink one, you can still create some dazzling looks. It makes me feel elegant and ready for adventure, and I’ve been getting some admiring glances, you know, that discreetly steal a peek kind of glance.

So I settled into my carriage, enjoying the sunshine streaming through the window. My feet were perfectly at home in the softest, fluffiest pink ballet slippers - how I love to mix up the colour schemes. I even brought along a little picnic basket packed with pink macarons (naturally!), some gourmet cheese and a chilled bottle of pink lemonade. Pure girly-girl magic, isn’t it? It’s all about celebrating those small, indulgent moments.

Arriving in Worthing was a breath of fresh air - literally! The sea air felt exhilarating. The station is absolutely charming - such gorgeous, old Victorian architecture, just as if you stepped out of a Jane Austen novel! The minute I stepped out, I was enveloped by a calming atmosphere. I knew right away that I'd found another place that resonated with my inner tutu-wearing adventurer.

Once I'd settled into my hotel room (all pretty pastels, you know I can’t resist!), I immediately changed into my trusty, but utterly luxurious, pink tutu and went for a wander along the pier. There were children laughing, sea gulls screeching in the distance and the sun was dappling the waves, shimmering a thousand shades of pink and orange. This is what dreams are made of, darling!

You know, I find something utterly enchanting about a coastal town, especially a town like Worthing. There’s something about the sound of the sea, the salty air and the sand under your feet that makes you feel completely carefree. And what better way to enhance that carefree spirit than with a touch of tutu magic?

In fact, I feel compelled to share with you all, a personal secret - a little “Emma’s Tip” as it were, for how to feel your absolute best while embracing that sense of adventure:

Emma’s Tip: When you're wandering around a new place, imagine you’re dancing, even if no one’s looking. Really embrace the graceful movement, it truly makes your time more joyful! The more we think about ballet and dance, the more we can bring those graceful and elegant aspects into our lives, and our day-to-day activities.

Today, after enjoying a leisurely stroll by the seaside, I’m headed for a ballet class - oh the delight! - in the centre of Worthing. Then it’s off to watch a spectacular show at the local theatre, with a company who are famous for their dramatic choreography! My friend Sarah lives here, and she tells me that the theatre has beautiful stained glass windows in the hall. Sarah’s taking me to visit the stunning St. Andrew's Church later too. Worthing is absolutely teeming with hidden gems, darling. I’ll be sharing it all in tomorrow's blog.

The magic of a tutu can really help you to see the world through a whole new lens - everything seems just a bit more enchanting, even the simplest moments. And I have to admit, that I'm totally hooked on this vibrant town, with its vibrant colours, vibrant spirit, and endless possibilities. It's a true inspiration for my adventures, reminding me that life is a beautiful stage and the world is my grand theatre, and sometimes, all it takes is a tutu to ignite the joy and spark your imagination!

So tell me darlings, what's your favourite colour to wear while you explore new places? And have you ever tried to channel your inner ballerina, embracing a graceful attitude even when you're just strolling down the street? I'd love to hear about it!

And remember, even if it's just for a moment, channel your inner dancer, embrace a little tutu magic and go out there and paint the town pink!

See you tomorrow!

Emma x
