Ealing: A Tutu-ful Trip!

Oh my darlings, it's Emma here, your favourite tutu-clad travel blogger, bringing you all the pink-tastic adventures from a trip to Ealing! This vibrant little corner of West London is positively buzzing with energy, and my inner ballerina just couldn't resist a twirl or two.

As always, the journey was half the fun. This time, I traded my trusty steed (my beautiful grey mare, Misty) for a carriage on the Great Western Railway. Don't worry, dear reader, my pink tutu was well tucked away in a stylish travel bag, looking as fabulous as ever.

Speaking of fabulous, Ealing Broadway station is practically an art installation. It's a mish-mash of sleek modern architecture and Victorian charm, all draped in floral displays bursting with colour. I was absolutely giddy, you can just imagine the twirling I did while I waited for the tube to Ealing Common.

The day kicked off with a rather unexpected visit to Ealing’s historic deer park. They even have a magnificent resident peacock – his emerald plumage looked utterly regal as he strutted amongst the ancient oak trees. I felt like I had stumbled into a fairytale, and of course, I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures with him (he was totally chill, darling!). My fellow animal-lover friends will absolutely adore these shots – just imagine him in a miniature tutu!

Next, I headed straight to the Ealing Studios, and you know what? There were actual filming sets, the costumes were still hanging up, and the crew were busy at work! This is a serious wonderland for any aspiring actor or filmmaker, let me tell you. Just picturing all the productions that have graced those soundstages makes my imagination go into overdrive!

In the afternoon, it was time for a real treat – the beautiful and iconic Ealing Picturehouse, nestled snugly on the high street. They were screening a classic ballet movie – “The Red Shoes” with a full orchestra accompaniment. Of course, I went all out in my fanciest tulle and sequins. You could hear my crinoline swishing as I walked down the aisle. I tell you, darling, everyone turned their heads!

I might be biased, but there’s just nothing like a classic ballet film to spark joy. Even after seeing it a thousand times, those iconic scenes from "The Red Shoes" make my heart skip a beat! After the movie, I popped into a quaint cafe nearby for a bit of a chat with my new dance buddies, and to dissect the entire film, of course.

The evening had a wonderfully theatrical vibe – I’m just such a sucker for live performances! I saw the most amazing "Alice in Wonderland" musical adaptation at the Ealing Playhouse. The entire production was pure whimsical fun – I especially loved the costumes – those wacky rabbit hats were truly something else. And the final act? Let’s just say I teared up. It was so incredibly emotional and powerful, it left me speechless for hours.

My night concluded in a gorgeous little pink-tastic pub with the best strawberry cocktails in all of London (and trust me, I've sampled quite a few). But don't worry, my lovelies, the real highlight of my trip was a chance encounter with a troupe of street dancers. You wouldn’t believe their moves! These incredible young people had me completely mesmerized, their choreography was a whirlwind of contemporary and classic moves, infused with incredible energy and power.

If you've never been to Ealing, I implore you to add it to your list! There is so much to explore, and something to please everyone. Whether you’re a dance enthusiast like myself, or just love to discover charming little corners of the world, Ealing has you covered.

And oh my darlings, while I’m on the subject of charming corners, I had the most delightful experience: I found a hidden corner tucked away in a back street, and what did I find but a dance studio – offering ballet classes! How perfect! This is a dream come true – all this travelling, and it has been inspiring me to embrace my inner ballerina and take up the art form. Who knows, maybe we’ll see each other at ballet class sometime!

So remember, my lovelies, no matter where your adventures take you, don’t forget your inner ballerina – she’s just waiting to twirl, and maybe, just maybe, Ealing is the perfect place to let your sparkle shine.

Love,

Emma xx

P.S. Remember, a life without pink is simply not worth living, darling. And you're not truly living until you've worn a tutu and twirled in the moonlight! Don’t be afraid to add a dash of colour and fun to your life!
