#TutuBlog - Dudley: Tutu-licious and Wild! (Post #3172)

Hey gorgeous gals! It's your girl, Emma, back from a whirlwind trip to Dudley, and oh my, what a day! It was truly a testament to the fact that life is far too short for boring clothes and even shorter for not embracing the pink-tutu life!

I kicked off my day in the most fabulous way possible โ€“ a ballet class at the newly opened "Danse et Douceur" studio in Derby. I have to say, that's a mouthful, even for me! They had these amazing pink barres (seriously, who wouldn't feel inspired surrounded by that much pink?!), and the sun streamed through the windows like a spotlight during our "en pointe" sequence. sigh I love those moments where the world disappears and you're just you, your tutu, and the magic of ballet.

Speaking of magic, I just have to tell you about this divine cafe I found in the Derby train station - "The Whimsical Cup". It's like stepping into a fairytale! Everything's pink, with floral patterns and cute little porcelain teacups, and the scones are to die for! Let's be honest, what else does a ballerina need on a long train journey?

And the journey was certainly one for the books. A scenic train ride from Derby to Dudley โ€“ something straight out of a Jane Austen novel. I just sat there, looking out the window at the rolling hills, feeling like I was living my very own "Pride and Prejudice" adventure! My dream is to one day take a long trip on the Orient Express โ€“ just me and my favorite tutu, of course.

As soon as I arrived in Dudley, I went straight to "The Tudor Rose Hotel", where I'm staying for the next couple of days. Oh. My. Goodness! Talk about luxurious! The room is decorated in soft blush tones with beautiful velvet drapes and a king-sized bed - the perfect spot for an impromptu "pas de deux" in my flowing pink tutu, if you know what I mean! I must confess, it does feel a little funny to be wearing a full tutu at a luxurious hotel, but then again, why wouldn't I embrace a bit of pink ballet joy anywhere and everywhere?!

After a quick (but incredibly glamourous) change into my latest "tutulicious" outfit (I'm rocking this vibrant flamingo pink number with an extravagant, multi-layered skirt and black sequined bodice!), I decided to go explore the enchanting Black Country Living Museum. The cobbled streets and quaint houses are straight out of a history book! The air was thick with the sweet scent of freshly baked bread, and the sound of the blacksmiths' hammers provided the most unique rhythm for a quick dance solo (I did, of course! What better inspiration could I have? ๐Ÿ˜‰).

However, the highlight of my Dudley adventure, you guys, was the stunning "Dudley Zoo." This place is beyond anything I could have imagined. From towering giraffes to cheeky monkeys, and even some magnificent peacocks, every creature was an inspiration. They just exuded a natural beauty and elegance, much like our favorite ballerina dancers! As I was watching the giraffes stretch their necks, gracefully feeding from the branches, I swear I saw a flash of a ballerina in that elegant, elongated posture. It just goes to show, there's beauty in everything if you know where to look!

And now, I have a question for all my fellow ballet fanatics. Do you think I should take my flamingo pink tutu to the zoo tomorrow and do a "swan lake" inspired interpretive dance with the graceful giraffes? Or would a "Sugar Plum Fairy" inspired routine be more appropriate with the peacocks? Hmm, difficult choice! Let me know your thoughts!

Well, time for me to slip into something comfy (pink, naturally) and call it a night. I'm already dreaming of all the ballet-tastic adventures to come!

Keep spreading the pink tutu love and don't forget to follow me on www.pink-tutu.com for your daily dose of inspiration! Until tomorrow, you fabulous flamingo queens! xoxo
