Scarborough Ballet Bonanza! 🩰

Hello my darling darlings! It's Emma here, fresh from a whirlwind trip to the beautiful seaside town of Scarborough! Honestly, I could spend weeks there, soaking up the sea air and admiring the charming streets. And guess what? This time, I even got to combine my love for ballet with my love for travel.

A Pink Tutu by the Sea

Scarborough was calling to me this week. The pull of the coast was too strong to resist, especially after all that Derbyshire drizzle! Now, I know what you're thinking – Scarborough? Isn't it a bit... basic? But darling, you don't know the half of it! There's so much more to this charming seaside town than meets the eye. Especially for a girl who loves to dance, it's pure magic. I think we should have a chat about what basic really means! There are many great things you could call this place: pretty, quaint, exciting - just wait till you hear about what I got up to!

You know me, I couldn't possibly resist a splash of colour even on this trip, so naturally I wore my newest pink tutu creation - a beautifully beaded number that sparkled like the seaside itself! 💃

You bet, I got lots of curious glances from folks, and that’s precisely the point, right? Think about it: seeing a tutu dancing through the seaside town in a graceful sway just adds an extra je ne sais quoi, a sprinkle of magic, don't you think? It made people smile. And wouldn't that make the world a better place? The idea of tutus floating like colourful little butterflies, spreading smiles and a dose of magic? Absolutely dreamy.

From the Coast to the Theatre

My little trip to Scarborough had me feeling like a complete ballet ballerina. You see, there’s a thriving arts scene happening there, and it starts with the Scarborough Spa. Now, that’s what I call an elegant building! They hold all kinds of fabulous events, from concerts and talks to dancing and shows, even a real live ballet, darling! Oh, how I love watching those graceful moves. I couldn't help but imagine myself twirling onstage – perhaps even on that stage someday.

It wasn't just about seeing a performance though. You know how I feel about the process, and the theatre itself is a work of art! It's just like the sets they used to create in the olden days for a pantomime. So beautifully elaborate! It was so beautiful, that I almost felt like I was walking onto the stage to take my bows. Almost.

I must say, my afternoon at the theatre gave me such a rush, such an energy. You could say that I was flying on that one. I just know I had to capture that feeling in the photo!

From Ballet to Birds

But there’s much more to Scarborough than its theatre, and I’m certainly not going to leave you with just that one picture of this magical place! For instance, Scarborough also boasts a bird sanctuary that’s full of so many beautiful feathered creatures – and I was more than happy to make a new feathered friend! Honestly, they look so stylish in their little plumage, I could spend days studying their different shades and colours. Don't tell me they don't get any style advice from me!

I had a proper moment with a stunning peregrine falcon! Can you imagine? I got to touch its wing – oh, how I felt the powerful rush of its energy, how I wished I could understand their language. They truly do know what grace looks like. Perhaps that was my ballet inspiration of the day!

(Insert photo of Emma with a falcon in the bird sanctuary, both looking graceful and powerful.)

I know I keep talking about graceful creatures. But hey! Grace is everything. We'll all agree on that. And anyway, you need it when you're travelling like this.

Travel Time!

Now, to get to this glorious place I had to choose how to travel. I do love my horse-drawn carriage rides. There’s just something about the clip clop of horses on cobbled stones that makes me feel as though I’ve been transported to another era. And they look so graceful - no tutus required, they’re already fashion statements! However, sometimes even the most stylish steeds get tired. I opted to get to Scarborough by train this time. I was travelling in first class, of course, which is just divine, you see. You know me, always looking for the right way to add a little sprinkle of glamour to any situation! The best thing about travelling by train? It’s just a beautiful way to experience the changing landscapes. Imagine how great it would be if everyone was travelling by train. Less fumes, better scenery. Just a beautiful dream...

Dancing in the Dream

It truly was a lovely trip, darlings! Filled with ballet inspiration and a little slice of coastal life. My adventures reminded me that life is all about creating moments of pure, unabashed joy. And guess what? Those moments are often found in the simplest things, a sunny afternoon, a graceful bird, or, whisper it, a fabulous pink tutu dancing down the seaside.

Don't forget - if you haven't already, visit my website www.pink-tutu.com for more stories, style tips and even a few dancing lessons to add your own spark to the world! I'm ready for a new adventure – any ideas where should I go next? Tell me in the comments, darlings.

Lots of love, Emma xx
