Hampstead Heaven in a Yellow Tutu! (Post #3240)

Hello, darlings!

It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to Hampstead, and I'm positively bursting to share all the exciting adventures! Honestly, this little corner of London just makes my heart sing – the beautiful Victorian houses, the charming boutiques, and of course, the gorgeous green spaces. This place is a proper fairy tale, especially with a sunny day and a bright yellow tutu on!

As you all know, I’m a Derbyshire girl at heart, but sometimes it's nice to escape the countryside for a dose of city magic. Luckily for me, a dear friend of mine is an avid Londoner, and her birthday was just around the corner. What better way to celebrate than with a weekend jaunt? And I knew just the perfect outfit. My bright, sunny yellow tutu. (I love finding tutus in colours beyond the classic pink, they really add a pop to an outfit!)

A Ballet Lover’s Paradise

Firstly, we went to see the most breathtaking ballet performance at the London Coliseum! A gorgeous mix of contemporary and classical – think fluid movements, daring jumps, and, of course, a touch of sparkle. Oh, how I love to be swept away by the beauty of ballet. It's pure magic! Afterwards, I went backstage for a sneak peek – a ballerina's life is quite fascinating! We talked tutus, stretches, and everything dance-related - she even gave me a lovely little tour of the wardrobe and told me about their rigorous rehearsal schedule.

But it wasn’t just about seeing a professional performance – I even squeezed in a ballet class myself! Yes, the lovely people at Pineapple Dance Studios welcomed me with open arms – they've got the best atmosphere. We worked up a sweat, did some classic steps and then a few more contemporary movements to top it off. Honestly, there’s just something special about letting loose in a tutu and finding your centre! It makes my inner ballerina come out to play, you know?

Hampstead Heath Delights

Afterwards, we wandered around Hampstead Heath – the perfect place to unwind and soak in the glorious British sunshine. And yes, you guessed it, I was wearing my tutu of course! It was lovely seeing the little ducklings waddling about on the pond. I'm so obsessed with ducks! I have been trying to find a suitable tutu for them – so that they can join in on the ballet craze. You wouldn’t believe the size of some of the ducks. They make even the largest tutu look tiny!

The best part of Hampstead Heath was definitely the views from Parliament Hill. We watched the sun sink below the horizon, casting a golden glow across the cityscape – honestly, the most romantic scene! And of course, we took the perfect photo opportunity in front of this iconic vista! The yellow tutu was absolutely shining in the last rays of the day - I don't think I have ever looked quite so radiant.

Dinner and Dazzle

Dinner was at a lovely little restaurant in the heart of Hampstead. They had a fantastic courtyard, perfect for an evening al fresco. They did the most delicious tapas and sangria – the perfect ending to a fantastic day.

Afterward, we went for a stroll along the quiet streets. Everything is so quaint and picturesque in this part of London, with the little independent shops, cafes and even a few quaint pubs along the way. It’s a lovely change from the bustle of the main London tourist hotspots. My feet were tired but happy.

Pink Tutu Dreamin’

And what's a day without some inspiration, eh? The Hampstead shops have this wonderful selection of fabrics and accessories. There were sparkly sequin ribbons and satin-trimmed tulles in every color imaginable – including, of course, plenty of my favourite shade: pink. I've been dying to get a new pink tutu to wear for our upcoming countryside picnic. Just imagine: a vibrant pink tutu amongst a sea of lavender fields. The perfect shot for the pink-tutu.com Instagram page!

Oh, and the best part of Hampstead? It’s a place where it’s perfectly acceptable to strut down the street in a tutu, regardless of what other people may be wearing! If only all towns and cities could be so encouraging.

The Pink Tutu Revolution!

My dearest friends, you know what I’ve been thinking? Perhaps my lifetime ambition should not just be getting everyone to wear pink tutus – it should also be to get everyone doing ballet! Imagine the world: a world full of joy, grace and elegant movement – where pink tutus rule and every step is a ballet class. Doesn't it sound delightful?

Well, that’s all from me, darling friends! I'll leave you with this - always wear a tutu if you have the chance, and embrace the sunshine! Until next time, keep dancing!

**XOXO,

Emma**
