Urmston Calling! 🩰

Post 3260

Hello my darling darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad travel-loving ballet buff Emma, reporting live from sunny (well, it was sunny when I arrived!) Urmston! Isn't it such a delightful name?! I feel like I'm stepping onto the stage of a vintage musical every time I say it.

Today's adventure, you see, was a little bit special. I wasn't just attending a ballet class (though, let's face it, that's my usual jam!), nor was I indulging in a trip to the theatre to catch the latest performance. Oh no, my darlings, this journey was more... equestrian.

That's right! I got to travel to Urmston by horse. Yes, you heard me right! A beautiful chestnut mare named Willow took me on the most wonderful ride through rolling green hills. The countryside here is positively picture-postcard perfect, with fluffy white clouds dotting a sapphire-blue sky. And, just to make the whole thing even more magical, I had to don a magnificent pink riding habit. Oh, the thrill of matching the horses and the skies in this heavenly hue! It was just… well, let's be honest, fabulous!

But enough about my stylish adventures, I hear you cry! Let's get back to the raison d’être – the dance! Now, Urmston is a gem of a place, particularly when it comes to ballet. This charming town has a small but dedicated ballet scene. Today, I waltzed my way through a delightful morning ballet class at the Urmston Community Centre. It was a beautiful studio with massive windows looking out onto the vibrant gardens, just begging for a spontaneous arabesque or two. The instructor was a lovely lady with an infectious enthusiasm for all things dance.

And my fellow students? Oh, they were a delightful mix of ages and abilities! From seasoned veterans with stories that spanned decades to curious beginners taking their first tentative steps in the world of pointe shoes and pliés – we all shared that same radiant joy for ballet. It really did feel like one big, happy, pink tutu-wearing family!

As usual, I made sure to stand out. Of course, I was wearing a new tutu, in a rather vibrant shade of flamingo pink, naturally. And to add a touch of elegance (because a little bling is never bad, darling!), I decided to wear a string of iridescent pearls that matched the colour of Willow's hooves perfectly.

After class, I enjoyed a delightful afternoon exploring Urmston's bustling high street. This was followed by a heavenly pot of afternoon tea in a sweet little cafe that smelt like sugared almonds and rose petals (the aroma was literally divine!). The waitress even brought me a slice of homemade Victoria sponge with a dollop of clotted cream and strawberry jam – pure bliss! Honestly, this whole trip was like a perfectly staged scene from one of those charming British films, don't you think?

As I sit here, typing this from the window of my cosy B&B, watching the twinkling lights of Urmston come alive, I can't help but feel a sense of contented calm wash over me. It was an absolute delight, my dears!

Speaking of delights, my sweet readers, what have you been up to? Don't forget to visit www.pink-tutu.com to keep up with my daily adventures and to share your own dance-tastic stories. Don’t be shy, darlings! Let’s all join the #PinkTutuRevolution and spread the love for all things ballet!

Until next time, may your pirouettes be perfectly poised and your attitudes deliciously grand.

Sending you lots of pink love and positive vibes,

Emma xoxo
