Fareham Calling: Pink Tutus and Puffin Dreams (Post #3259)

Hello, my gorgeous ballet bunnies! Emma here, reporting live from sunny (well, maybe not so sunny - but sunny-ish) Fareham! It feels absolutely smashing to be back on the road, chasing that magical ballet magic that draws me in like a moth to a flame (or maybe more like a ballerina to a barre). 😉

This trip's been a whirlwind already! I was a tad nervous about travelling, as you know I'm a bit of a creature of habit when it comes to my ballet routines, but as always, the train ride was absolutely delightful! You know I love a good train journey, it gives me a chance to reflect on all the amazing adventures I've had and get inspired for the new ones. It's like a rolling backstage! I popped on my latest vintage find – a scarlet cardigan that's begging to be paired with a pink tutu. 🩰

I just love that my life's like one big performance. Who needs Broadway when you have the great outdoors? The views out of the window were stunning, fields of green stretching endlessly, and just when I was thinking about how lovely it all looked, bam! The conductor announces we’re approaching Fareham.

I was bursting with excitement when we finally arrived! Fareham just feels like a place filled with opportunities for an ambitious dancer like myself – I’ve already scoped out the local dance studio and they’re having an introductory class next week!

After settling in, I took a little stroll through the town, breathing in the fresh sea air and soaking up the vibrant atmosphere. This part of the UK feels a little more rugged than Derbyshire - think cobbled streets, quaint pubs, and a scattering of antique shops. Of course, it’s absolutely dripping in that charm that makes you feel at home in any new place – not to mention a bunch of really fantastic pubs to sample!

One thing I adore about travelling is discovering all the new critters I encounter along the way! This time it was a delightful flock of puffins. Those little fellas stole my heart – imagine a ballet company where all the dancers have bright, beaky noses! I could watch them for hours, bouncing along the rocks with their little wings flapping, just enjoying the seaside life.

Fareham’s definitely got me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside – and by warm and fuzzy, I mean, inspired! It's that magic, you know? It's the magic of seeing something new, getting a fresh perspective, and knowing that there are so many adventures yet to be discovered. It's like being back in the rehearsal studio, ready to pour every ounce of energy into my next big leap!

It wouldn't be a true Emma adventure without a touch of ballet, wouldn’t you agree? So, I headed to a gorgeous little cafe I spotted earlier, ordered myself a proper cream tea (absolutely delightful, by the way!), and spent the afternoon practicing my leaps and turns – well, a bit of ballet on a small scale anyway. Imagine this – the cafe's floor as my stage, the clattering teacups as my percussive rhythm, and a few startled looks from the locals adding an unexpected twist to the routine! Let's just say, I didn't need a mirror to feel the "stage presence"!

Before ending the day, I even found a brilliant pink tutu shop - absolutely divine! They're going to be stocking my brand new line of Pink Tutu ballet wear.

This entire adventure has left me with so much inspiration for my next blog posts - which means more incredible tutus, a sprinkle of pink, and a whole lot of dancing to come! Keep your eyes peeled, darlings! The dance is just getting started...
