Good morning, darlings! ☀️ It's Emma here, ready to whisk you away to the wonderful world of ballet and tutus, all with a dash of pink and a touch of whimsy!
Today, I'm in Sutton in Ashfield, a charming little town tucked away in Nottinghamshire. It's a far cry from my Derbyshire roots, but just as delightful! And trust me, you won't find a better place to get your Tutu Fix than right here.
So, why am I in this little town, you ask? Well, my dears, you know I can't resist a good ballet performance, and today was all about a charming production of 'Swan Lake'. I mean, who doesn't love a good story of love, betrayal, and swans, right? 🦢💖
I made the journey by train, of course! What's better than watching the countryside roll by while dreaming of graceful pirouettes? (Spoiler alert: nothing!) And my outfit? Well, what else could it be but a vibrant, bright, shimmering pink tutu? It’s got the perfect touch of sparkle and glamour – it was made for a day out like this. ✨
Now, the performance was magical, with the dancers flitting across the stage like butterflies, each movement a graceful whisper. But the real highlight? Their tutus! The swan lake tutus, all feathery and white, like whispers of clouds! It inspired me to whip out my sketchpad, eager to recreate that loveliness on paper (and hopefully one day, in my own collection!). ✍️🎨
After the show, I grabbed a cup of tea (because what’s ballet without a good cuppa?) and sat watching the sunset over the quaint streets of Sutton in Ashfield. I’ve got to say, there’s something special about a good town, with its own unique personality. It feels warm and welcoming, and that's just what a girl needs after a delightful ballet performance.
But, here’s the best part of the day - I found a vintage dress shop that’s straight out of a fairytale! I knew I had to have something to remember my day, so I picked out a sweet little pink dress with a floral pattern - the kind of thing a ballet dancer dreams about. 💖💃
Honestly, today was like stepping into a perfect little bubble. And guess what? The shopkeeper told me a little local legend, about a lady in a pink tutu, who is said to bring good luck to those who spot her. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it’s true!
Anyway, darlings, it’s time for me to head off to my cozy little hotel, and dream of swan lake swans and tutu-clad princesses!
