Hitchin Hooray!

Well hello darlings, and welcome back to my little corner of the internet! Today I'm feeling particularly chirpy, having just spent a lovely day in Hitchin, a charming little town just north of London. It was the perfect day for a mini-adventure and, naturally, my pink tutu had to be involved!

Tutu Travels by Train

Let's just say I turned some heads at Kings Cross Station! My super-cute, sunshine yellow tutu (you know, the one with the glittery, pink sequins around the hem!) was quite the statement piece. Even a couple of cheeky lads stopped for a chat, although they were quite surprised when I asked them to show me their "pliés"!

Anyway, my journey on the train was filled with friendly faces and quite a few smiles. The conductor even let me use the loudspeaker to announce the arrival at Hitchin, much to the delight of the other passengers. Honestly, sometimes I feel like I’m the Pied Piper of pink tutus!

Hitchin: A Gem in the English Countryside

Once in Hitchin, I decided to indulge in a bit of afternoon tea at a quaint café called “The Lavender Teapot.” The teapot, yes, it was actually shaped like a teapot! The owner was absolutely delighted by my outfit, saying she had never seen a pink tutu outside of a theatre production. We ended up having a lovely conversation about ballet, and she even confessed she'd always secretly wanted to take up ballet classes. Maybe my mission to get everyone in pink tutus is more attainable than I first thought!

Ballet at The Mill Arts Centre

My primary reason for visiting Hitchin was to catch a show at The Mill Arts Centre. They're famous for their creative programme, and I'd heard that they were hosting a contemporary ballet piece set to the music of Radiohead. My oh my, what a performance! The dancers were absolutely breathtaking, and the choreography was innovative and powerful. It really made me want to get back to the studio myself, maybe work on some of those turns I've been struggling with.

Pink Tutus & Wildlife Wonders

After the show, I strolled through Hitchin's lovely, bustling market. Honestly, it was such a joy to soak in the atmosphere. And you know what? I spotted a pink flamingo mug for sale! I think it’s calling my name, don't you? I couldn’t leave Hitchin without seeing the iconic Hitchin Priory, with its ancient trees and beautiful gardens. It was the perfect backdrop for a photo shoot, and of course, my pink tutu took center stage! And hey, guess what? While I was posing, I spotted a cheeky squirrel nibbling on an acorn! What a way to end a magical day.

Horse-Powered Romance

Because, let's face it, every good adventure needs a touch of whimsy, I opted for a horse-drawn carriage ride back to the train station. Honestly, it felt like stepping out of a fairytale! The carriage was beautiful, the horse was perfectly gentle, and the driver even serenaded me with a classic English folk song!

The Magic of Ballet: It’s Not Just About the Tutu

Back in Derbyshire now, snuggled up in my cozy pink bed, I'm reflecting on my day in Hitchin. What a day! This adventure is a testament to how ballet can really transport you to different worlds, whether you're at the theater, in the park, or even in a busy train station.

As I said before, my aim in life is to get everyone to wear a pink tutu! I might even give a pink tutu to a squirrel one day, they are cute! But beyond that, it's also about spreading the joy of movement and self-expression, inspiring others to embrace their inner dancer. Because everyone deserves a little bit of pink tutu magic in their life.

So, until tomorrow, darlings! Don't forget to twirl and let your inner sparkle shine!

Yours truly, Emma www.pink-tutu.com
