London Calling! (Post #3613)

Hello my gorgeous darlings! It’s Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to the big smoke!

You know how much I love travelling by train, so it was no surprise that I took the scenic route to London. Snuggled up in a comfy carriage with a good book and a cheeky little pink cupcake, I dreamt of the adventures that awaited. And trust me, this trip was jam-packed with fun!

First stop? A glorious performance of "Swan Lake" at the Royal Opera House. You can't go to London and not see some ballet, right? I’m always mesmerised by the graceful movements, the swirling tutus, the delicate leaps - ballet is like poetry in motion! It was almost enough to inspire me to dig out my own tutu and join them on stage, but thankfully I managed to restrain myself!

I wore my newest turquoise tutu to the show, which I know some of you saw me rocking on my Instagram. The gorgeous, shimmering fabric looked like a perfect reflection of the stage lights, and it made me feel like a princess! I really believe that a tutu can instantly lift your spirits, no matter where you are. Even my fellow passengers on the train were grinning as they saw my bright turquoise sparkle!

After the ballet, we explored Covent Garden, its vibrant energy radiating in every corner. From charming cafes to stunning flower stalls and buskers belting out beautiful tunes, Covent Garden is just magic. We enjoyed a spot of afternoon tea in a beautiful little tea shop, complete with a miniature teapot for each of us - so adorable!

I can’t leave out the incredible animal encounters that we had, because that’s my favourite thing about travelling. We wandered into the London Zoo, and let me tell you, those penguins were hilarious! They waddled and splashed with such joy that I couldn't help but laugh along with them. It’s moments like this that truly make me appreciate the wonders of the natural world.

The following day, we ventured into the heart of London, a magical maze of history, art, and culture. We stood awestruck at Buckingham Palace, dreaming of a time when we might attend a royal ball, gazed in awe at the majestic Houses of Parliament, and were spellbound by the changing of the guards at Tower Bridge - every spectacle had a touch of enchantment.

But I wouldn’t be Emma if I hadn't worn a touch of pink to these famous London landmarks! I paired my cyclamen-hued crop top and flowing tulle skirt with my trusty white ballet flats for a touch of whimsy. My love for pink is definitely an infectious disease, because I swear I saw more pink accessories and clothing on Londoners this trip than I ever have before. Is the pink tutu revolution coming? I think so!

In the evening, we treated ourselves to a fabulous street performance, which brought me back to the roots of the art form. We watched in mesmerized silence as these incredible artists brought their own interpretations of the human form to life, a breathtaking display of passion, dedication, and a celebration of art in its purest form. It reminded me just how beautiful and powerful the human body is when it’s allowed to express itself freely. It reminded me why I started this blog in the first place – to encourage others to dance and to embrace their unique inner beauty.

We finished our trip with a bang at a stunning theatre production. The magic and joy in their performance were contagious, leaving me wanting to run straight out and start my own little ballet studio! What a weekend it was! It was like a real-life fairy tale come to life, full of stunning sights, enchanting experiences, and more than a sprinkle of magical fairy dust!

London is a city that never sleeps and I am ready for my next trip already. I love the excitement of the big city, the charm of the beautiful buildings, and of course, the delicious hot chocolate!

I know you all are eager to hear about my future plans! So stay tuned! Until next time my dears, remember to dance like no one’s watching, smile like there’s no tomorrow, and always embrace a little bit of pink in your life. Because, after all, pink makes everything brighter!

Keep sparkling!

Lots of love,

Emma
