Ellesmere Port: A Tutu Tale! 💖🩰 (Post #3724)

Hello my darlings! It's Emma here, reporting live from Ellesmere Port. Now, I know what you're thinking... Ellesmere Port? What's a tutu-loving, ballet-obsessed girl doing in a place like that?

Well, let me tell you, the world is a much more beautiful place than you think. Sometimes you just have to step outside your usual comfort zone and embrace the unexpected. This week, that comfort zone included leaving my trusty steed, Belle (my trusty mare!), in the stable and jumping on a train to this little gem of a town.

But don't let the name fool you - Ellesmere Port is full of charm! I absolutely love those historic, industrial towns with a bit of rough-around-the-edges grit. Plus, it has a gorgeous canal with boats chugging along and lovely walks by the river. It’s such a change from the Derbyshire countryside. And, whisper it quietly… it was actually the perfect backdrop for my brand new black tutu, a gorgeous piece of fashion magic I picked up from a little independent shop in Liverpool on the way. It's not your typical pink tutu, but the elegance and grace of the black made me feel like a mysterious ballerina stepping out onto a dark stage.

Speaking of stages, I did actually end up on a stage here! The Ellesmere Port Theatre Group had a wonderful open rehearsal, and wouldn't you know it, they were practicing "Giselle" - one of my absolute favourites. Of course, I couldn't resist joining in with my little black tutu, which added a touch of extra je ne sais quoi to the performance. The whole town embraced me and my tutu with open arms! It felt so liberating to dance amongst the enthusiastic crowd, not only in this little gem of a theatre but also under the big sky right next to the docks later on. Even a little seagull seemed to appreciate my moves and chirped a happy tune alongside my pirouette.

Anyway, I must stop rambling! You guys wouldn't believe the exciting news that's bubbling beneath the surface… there's a rumour about a ballet-themed fair happening right here in Ellesmere Port! It’s all hush-hush for now, but just imagine: a place where you can celebrate all things ballet with fellow enthusiasts. Tutus galore! Performances! Masterclasses! Even, gasp, a chance to learn to ride horses in full pink tutu attire! (Belle is itching for a new friend, by the way!) I am so thrilled!

The world really is a ballet-loving place, if you just know where to look!

So, here’s the deal my dear tutu-loving friends. Go explore. Step outside your comfort zone. Discover your own hidden ballet treasures, no matter where you are. And remember, as long as you wear a tutu, you're always on pointe!

See you on the next stage, darling!

Lots of love, Emma 💕
