Welling Wonderful: A Pink Tutu Adventure (#3781)

Oh darling, what a day! My lovelies, prepare to be transported to a realm of frills, twirls, and, of course, the most gorgeous shade of pink you’ve ever laid eyes on! This is blog post number 3781, and we're embarking on a fabulously fabulous adventure in the heart of Kent!

I must admit, I’ve been positively pining for a bit of countryside escapism. The city can be so thrilling, but sometimes, you just crave the whisper of the wind through the trees and the sight of a gentle rolling hillside. And Welling, with its charming lanes and sweet little shops, has definitely hit the spot!

My journey began with the most glorious sunrise over the Derbyshire hills. A wave of pure joy washed over me as the morning light bathed the rolling fields in a gentle, golden hue. It's times like these, with the birds singing their morning symphony, that I remember why I’m so in love with nature.

This time, instead of hopping onto the trusty train, I opted for a little old-world charm. You know, embracing those old-fashioned delights! I trotted out my trusty steed, the magnificent Chestnut, for a glorious countryside ride. His gentle spirit is infectious, and we rode side by side, sharing a moment of pure equine bliss. I do love my horsey moments – feeling the wind in my hair, the sun on my skin, and the rhythm of Chestnut's hooves beating a joyful drum!

Welling, darling, is absolutely blooming! I don't know what's in the air, but the town seemed to be bursting with the most exquisite spring colours, as though Mother Nature herself had picked up a paintbrush and had a whimsical little moment. There were blossoms everywhere, and a whole menagerie of gorgeous butterflies flitting through the gardens, flitting like pink confetti! And guess who was delighted by these whimsical fluttering beauties? Me!

Speaking of beauty, darling, the local Welling Library is an absolute dream! I swear, this building has got more charm than a freshly baked strawberry tart! I literally felt my heart melt as I stepped inside. And the scent of old paper and freshly brewed coffee? Absolutely heavenly!

But, before I dive into all the literary delights, a quick confession. My lovely, my most favourite shade of pink - the colour that sings a symphony in my soul - it's everywhere in this little town! And don't even get me started on the gorgeous bakery I stumbled upon! Their frosting is so light, fluffy and pink, I nearly had to hold myself back from inhaling it! Goodness knows I'd have probably looked like a little sugar-frosted cloud with a pink tutu!

Back to my journey, my next stop, you'll never guess! A ballet class in Welling itself! Isn't that the most wonderful thing?! A whole little haven dedicated to dance, grace and elegance! You can practically hear the sweet music playing through the door, calling you to step inside and find your inner ballerina!

And speaking of grace, have I mentioned how much I love a well-balanced ballet class? I practically dance my way through life, even while hopping off a bus or queuing at the baker's. I might have made a little leap out of line once. My dear, the whole queue did applaud though!

Anyway, the teacher was fabulous, and her class had a wonderful energy. The other dancers were lovely, we had such a laugh! We even shared a tea and scones afterward, giggling about our silly moments and cheering on each other's leaps and pirouettes. There’s something about a group of ballerinas together, it's pure magic!

Right then, enough about the ballet (although honestly, darling, it’s such a beautiful and inspiring form of art!) I promised you a peek into this delightful library. Well, I have a bit of a soft spot for historic places. They whisper with the past and hold stories within their very walls! I found myself wandering through stacks of leather-bound books and a wonderfully curated selection of magazines, my senses filled with the unique aroma of aging paper and old leather. This library feels like a world of its own, and the sheer peace that engulfs you when you step inside is almost palpable.

And speaking of stories, I simply must tell you about the most extraordinary antique shop I discovered! Imagine this: cobweb-laden windows, dimly lit shelves packed to the brim with old porcelain dolls, vintage costume jewelry, and dusty antique books. I swear, there was an air of excitement in the air. As soon as I stepped through the door, it was like a time machine whisked me away to the days of corsets and feathered boas! It’s like something out of a story book – if, of course, that story book has a delightful touch of pink in it!

The afternoon in Welling, darling, flew by in a whirlwind of pastel dreams. I found myself caught up in the charm of this small town. And then I realised it, you see, Welling is what you make it. It's a blank canvas, a chance to create your own story. So whether you’re drawn to the beauty of nature, the joy of ballet, or simply a cozy book in a comfy armchair, Welling is a little haven just waiting to be discovered. And what's a little haven without a sprinkle of pink tutu magic?

Before I wrap things up for this delightful trip, I'm sharing this week's 'Pink Tutu Challenge': find your own little haven! Whether it's a sunny spot in your garden, a cozy café, or a beloved bookshop, make a note of it in your diary! Spend some time in that space, be fully present, and you’ll be surprised at how much beauty you discover, in all its wonderful and unexpected forms. And don't be afraid to take a moment to twirl. After all, it's always a good day for a little twirling magic!

Now, I'm off to get lost in the pages of another novel. But before you click off this post, darlings, tell me – what's your favourite pink hue? Let me know in the comments, and until next time, stay sweet, stay lovely, and stay twirly!

Yours in all things pink, Emma www.pink-tutu.com
