Today’s journey took me from my Derbyshire home to the charming town of Upminster, Essex. Yes, you heard me right! The wind whipping through my hair, the sun dappling the fields… the train journey was as delightful as it could be. There’s nothing like a good train trip to clear the head and set the stage for a fabulous day, don't you think?
My Upminster mission? You guessed it – TUTU ADVENTURES!!
You see, I’m always on the hunt for the most perfect tutus, and rumour has it that Upminster boasts some hidden treasures in its vintage shops and charming boutiques. I’m talking feather boas, sequined tutus, and all the glitzy goodness a girl could ever dream of!
This trip is also a celebration of my favourite shade – pink! 💕 It’s everywhere in Upminster, from the vibrant flowers in the town square to the charming, pastel-coloured houses lining the streets. My heart just skips a beat every time I see that gorgeous shade.
Of course, I couldn’t resist capturing my outfit for the day! My vintage rose pink tutu with a shimmery sequin trim, paired with my trusty knee-high boots (perfect for navigating cobblestone streets!), topped off with my trusty vintage hat that’s adorned with feathers and a big pink bow – oh so divine!
Let me tell you, shopping in Upminster is a joy! The local boutiques are like a kaleidoscope of colours and textures – the perfect environment for a Tutu Treasure Hunt. I’m always on the lookout for those rare and wonderful finds that bring my vintage tutu collection to life! And trust me, I’ve found some absolute gems today! 🤫 (You’ll be seeing photos on my Instagram very soon!)
Now, Upminster is a town steeped in history, and of course, I had to pay a visit to the local church. The gothic architecture, stained glass windows, and the serene atmosphere just radiated such peacefulness – the perfect place for a moment of reflection after a whirlwind day of tutu adventures. I couldn’t help but think about the ballerinas who must have graced these halls through the centuries!
My journey continued, taking me through the delightful park. The sun shining through the trees, the birdsong filling the air – the whole scene just whispered, “Relax and enjoy!” So, I did! I sat on a bench, twirled a little (just a touch!) and took in the beautiful sights and sounds of this charming town. And yes, I did have a little picnic. A bit of posh picnic food, because the English country countryside demands it, right?!
Let me tell you, dear readers, there is truly magic in a little town like Upminster. It’s the friendly faces, the hidden gems tucked away in quaint corners, and the overall charm of this place that just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Speaking of fuzzy… 🐿️ I stumbled upon the cutest squirrel hiding amongst the trees in the park! His little bushy tail and bright eyes had me completely smitten! Wildlife truly makes any trip even better, and it reminds us that beauty exists in every little corner of life. Don't you think?
Of course, a trip to Upminster wouldn't be complete without a little bit of dancing! The Upminster Ballet School is just around the corner and a dream for every tutu-loving girl. I couldn't resist taking a class and feeling my feet brush the wooden floors once again. It’s been a long time since I've graced the dance studio, and it brought me so much joy to connect with my passion and feel the magic of ballet in this special setting.
I know, you might be thinking, "Emma, ballet classes? Really?!" But here's the truth – it doesn’t matter where you are, if you find yourself on a ballet floor, it’s always going to feel like coming home! You lose yourself in the music, you move with grace, you express your heart through the art of dance. It's a beautiful thing! And I truly believe everyone should try it at least once in their life. (Now you're thinking what I'm thinking, right?! 💖 I'm on a mission to get the whole world wearing pink tutus and dancing their hearts out!)
