Loughborough Calling! (Post #3985)

Hello, darlings!

Emma here, reporting live from Loughborough! The sun is shining, the birds are singing (and believe me, there are some serious avian divas in this town), and my pink tutu is positively shimmering! It's been a whirlwind few days, and I'm bursting to tell you all about it.

I've been dreaming of this trip ever since I heard whispers of a magnificent ballet production featuring a dazzling company, not to mention the promise of an extraordinary ballet-themed afternoon tea. Who could resist?!

Speaking of travel, my journey to Loughborough was quite the adventure. It's just as well I've got a soft spot for trains! Our journey was an elegant mix of scenery and good conversation. (Just call me Ms. Manners on wheels! I couldn't resist picking up a copy of 'Emily Post' at the station... classic, wouldn't you say?)

Anyway, once we reached Loughborough, I was in absolute heaven. There's something about these quaint English towns, don't you think? A little touch of timeless charm that's just perfect for indulging in the finer things in life. And of course, what's finer than a trip to the theatre?!

The ballet company's performance was simply breathtaking! A tapestry of colour and grace, woven together by talented dancers who truly embody the magic of movement. From the effortless leaps and delicate pirouettes to the emotionally charged narratives unfolding before our eyes, it was an experience that left me truly spellbound. (Of course, the gorgeous costumes weren't a small part of that! The colour schemes were absolutely divine!)

But let's talk about the true highlight of my day: The afternoon tea! You simply cannot go wrong with afternoon tea, and this one was a real gem. Teapots of perfectly brewed Earl Grey, dainty sandwiches, and a selection of delightful cakes... All enjoyed in an absolutely charming setting, filled with vintage decor and the gentle hum of polite conversation. It was truly a scene straight out of a classic English novel.

I even snagged the prettiest teacup (with tiny pink flowers!), and I can't wait to show you all on my Instagram! Oh, and let me tell you about the delightful finger sandwiches! You wouldn't believe how delicate the cucumber ones were... Oh, the flavour! (I think I even stole the recipe for that, shhh!)

After my afternoon tea adventure, I indulged in a bit of wildlife spotting, a delightful little surprise for this Derbyshire girl. (Did you know they have a lovely deer park just outside the town? Such graceful creatures! It made me dream of being a deer in pink tutus for a moment... perhaps that's a post for another day!)

This weekend really was a delightful escape from reality. And you know what? It reminded me why I adore travelling so much. Exploring new places, indulging in all things girly, and spreading the pink tutu gospel... what more could a girl ask for?

Well, until next time, darlings!

Keep shining,
