TutuBlog: Barking with a Yellow Tutu

Post number 3986

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, reporting live from my favourite spot in the entire world - a sun-drenched platform at Barking station, waiting for my train to London. I'm absolutely bursting with excitement, because I'm off to see a brand new ballet production at Sadler's Wells – can you believe it? A new show featuring some incredible choreography by a talented young artist, all about the wild beauty of the Amazon rainforest.

The dress code for today is, of course, a vibrant, sunshine-yellow tutu, a colour that screams 'joy' and 'adventure', just like this trip. I love the way a tutu can transform an everyday outfit – it instantly makes you feel like a princess, even on the dreary streets of Barking! My motto, darlings, is always 'More Tutu, More Life!'

Speaking of the rainforest, I had the most enchanting experience yesterday. I went for a wander in the countryside near my home in Derbyshire – a beautiful place with rolling hills and babbling brooks, truly a haven for a ballet enthusiast like myself. And wouldn't you know it, I stumbled upon a family of deer! I mean, the cutest, most elegant little creatures you could imagine. Their graceful movements reminded me so much of ballet – their poise, the way they leaped through the trees, even their dainty hooves looked like pointe shoes! It truly was an inspirational moment.

As I was watching them frolic in the sun, I couldn't help but dream of a new ballet inspired by these magical animals. Imagine the graceful leaps, the fluid movements, the story of a young fawn finding her place in the world. It's a bit like my own journey, you see. Back in Derbyshire, I never thought I'd be dancing in front of an audience in London. I even dared to dream of a pink tutu, but wouldn't you know it, here I am, a regular at the Royal Opera House!

It’s a reminder that we should never be afraid to follow our dreams. My journey might not be filled with leaping deer, but it has its fair share of whimsical encounters! From performing on a makeshift stage in a quaint village hall, to sharing my passion for ballet through my little blog, www.pink-tutu.com, every moment has been magical. I hope my blog encourages others to embrace their inner dancer, to wear a little pink (or yellow, of course!), and to take a chance on something new. You might just surprise yourself, darlings!

Now, the train is pulling into the station, and it’s time to whisk myself away to the heart of London, to experience the magic of ballet in a beautiful, ornate theatre. But before I do, I wanted to tell you about a little secret.

This upcoming Friday, I'm planning a special, one-time-only 'Pink Tutu Workshop' at the village hall! We'll be having a delightful afternoon learning basic ballet moves, getting our pink on, and spreading joy – and of course, I'll be sharing some of my favourite dance-related stories. It's going to be an afternoon filled with sunshine, smiles, and just a little bit of pink sparkle!

So, if you're in the area and you fancy giving ballet a try, don't be shy – everyone is welcome! You can check my blog, www.pink-tutu.com, for all the details. I'd love for you to join me.

See you at Sadler’s Wells!

Until next time, darlings!

Much love,

Emma xx

P.S. Don’t forget, if you’ve ever wanted to take a horse-drawn carriage through the Derbyshire countryside, there’s a fantastic company in Matlock – I highly recommend a romantic afternoon ride! Just be sure to wear a pink tutu! 😉
