It’s a scorcher today – feels like summer’s finally decided to grace us with its presence! - but you know me, no heatwave is gonna stop me from getting my dance fix. Today's adventure? Caerphilly, Wales! A whirlwind train ride (because who needs boring old planes, right?) and here I am, surrounded by history, charm, and the most stunning castle you ever did see! 🏰

Now, I’m not gonna lie, the real reason for today's adventure? You guessed it – a fabulous ballet performance at the beautiful Caerphilly Castle. You might be thinking, "Emma, why not just stick to the traditional stage?" Well, you know me, always pushing boundaries! A bit of a challenge, a dash of adventure, and an incredible venue – all wrapped up in one magical tutu-clad package! 🤩
Before I get to the dancing, I gotta give a shout out to the locals! Such lovely people, full of that classic Welsh charm. And let's not forget the gorgeous countryside! Fields of wild flowers, fluffy sheep, and even a cheeky fox I spotted by the river – talk about living the dream, eh? 🦊🌼
Okay, let's talk about the tutu, because, obviously, no blog post from your girl Emma is complete without a tutu revelation. Today's choice was a bright bubblegum pink, inspired by the vibrant hues of the Welsh landscape. A bit of a playful touch with some iridescent sequins, too – just like a butterfly in the sun!
Now, back to that magical ballet show. Let's just say, the performance was truly epic! Set against the backdrop of the grand castle, the dancers were breathtaking. It was as if the entire venue was swirling with movement and passion. My heart skipped a beat every time a pirouette took flight, every time the story unfolded with every graceful gesture. And don't even get me started on the costumes – sparkling, shimmering, and absolutely divine! 💖
One of the things I love most about ballet, apart from the obvious grace and artistry, is the feeling of being transported. The show was over way too soon – just when I was really getting into the whole medieval princess fantasy. But it left me buzzing with energy. So, instead of going straight back to Derbyshire, I decided to grab some ice cream and soak in the atmosphere. A few friendly locals suggested trying a traditional Welsh cake, so naturally, I had to indulge! It was, of course, delicious and had a hint of a certain pink hue, too – like fate had ordained it, ha! 😋
Overall, my adventure in Caerphilly was absolutely fabulous! A stunning castle, captivating performance, delicious treats, and the perfect dose of ballet inspiration – what more could a girl ask for?
