Melton Mowbray: Where Pink Tutus Go To Gallop!

Hey darlings! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to the most delightful little town in the whole of Leicestershire: Melton Mowbray! I know, I know, not the first place that springs to mind for a tutu-loving fashionista, but hear me out!

First of all, let's talk about the journey. This time, I decided to go old school and travel by train. Yes, a steam train! It was gloriously romantic, all puffs of smoke and rattling carriages. And believe me, my pink tutu held its own amidst the vintage glamour.

As soon as I arrived, I could feel the excitement brewing! Melton Mowbray is known for its "pork pies" (sounds like something from a ballet!) and its charming market square. And, you guessed it, I had to get myself a little souvenir: a beautifully crafted porcelain pig, which will proudly grace my dressing table back in Derbyshire. He looks absolutely adorable in my new "Whimsical Wanderlust" tutu.

My first port of call was the fabulous "Horseshoe Dance Studio." Just the name itself makes me swoon! It was nestled amongst cobblestone streets and blooming flower boxes - perfectly quaint! I immediately booked myself into a beginner's ballet class.

The studio had a wonderful, airy atmosphere. And, of course, the pièce de résistance: the wall of ballet shoes. Talk about paradise! They had every type imaginable – pointe shoes, demi-pointe shoes, jazz shoes – you name it. My feet were tingling just looking at them.

And the class? Pure delight! The instructor was a wonderfully warm and welcoming woman who made everyone feel comfortable. It was clear that everyone, from the beginners like myself to the more seasoned dancers, had a genuine passion for the art form. We even learned some beautiful stretches and techniques, all the while wearing the most exquisite tutus.

But my day didn't end there! I couldn't go to Melton Mowbray without indulging in some of its famous pork pies. Now, I’m no connoisseur of savoury delights (I'm much more a tutu-and-cake gal!), but let me tell you, these were incredible! Imagine: crispy pastry filled with melt-in-your-mouth pork. A delicious and unexpected pairing for my pink tutu!

After my delectable picnic in the market square (I know, it's not exactly Paris, but the scenery was certainly enchanting!), I spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the countryside. You know how much I love nature! There were fields stretching out in every direction, with grazing sheep, a mischievous fox, and a pair of majestic deer that actually paused to look at me - or was it my dazzling tutu?!

Honestly, Melton Mowbray has become a true favourite of mine. It was a perfect escape from the city hustle, with just the right balance of charm, culture, and countryside. It's certainly cemented my belief that pink tutus go with absolutely everything.

I'll leave you with this: why not take a little inspiration from my Melton Mowbray adventures? Pack your pink tutu, jump on a train (or a horse!), and explore a new part of the world. Who knows what wonderful surprises await you!

Until next time, stay radiant and embrace the world in your pink tutu.

Love,

Emma
