Bishop Auckland Bound! (Post #4120)

Hello my darling darlings!

It's your girl Emma, back again for another fabulous day in the life of a pink tutu-loving, ballet-obsessed gal! Today's adventure takes me northwards, to the enchanting county of Durham, where I'm heading for a long weekend in Bishop Auckland! I couldn't resist the charm of this historical gem. The cobbled streets, the imposing castle, the thought of all the beautiful ballet history in this area!

Now, let's talk about my travel attire - a sunshine yellow tutu, naturally! Yes, you heard me right, a bright yellow tutu for a train journey! I just can't resist a bit of color and sparkle, and yellow just screamed 'adventure' to me. I paired it with a chic pink cardigan (pink is my go-to, you know!), my trusty ballet flats (essential for a dancer on the move!), and my adorable little pink tote bag, bursting with snacks and a good book. The perfect ensemble for a day out!

I absolutely adore train journeys! I find them so relaxing, so romantic. Watching the countryside flit past the window, dreaming of all the adventures to come… it's pure bliss! Plus, I got a prime seat by the window for a beautiful sunrise over the Peak District, it was simply magical. The pink hues painted the sky like a brushstroke across the clouds, it almost looked like a ballet dancer had choreographed it, haha!

And speaking of ballet, the first order of business in Bishop Auckland? The iconic Auckland Castle. Apparently, it's more than just a stately home, it's steeped in art and history! It boasts the only collection of Spanish masters in the North East! I am absolutely giddy with anticipation for the chance to witness those paintings in person.

After the castle, it's off to explore the bustling markets, maybe indulge in a spot of afternoon tea (pink scones, of course!), and, oh, the chance of finding some local crafts! It wouldn't be a true Emma adventure without some fabulous treasures. And the evening? Well, that will be spent indulging my inner ballerina! I found a beautiful dance studio tucked away in Bishop Auckland that hosts open ballet classes, and you know me, I couldn't resist the opportunity to pirouette amongst the locals. I'm just going to embrace the charm and spirit of this charming town and who knows, maybe even get a few locals twirling! It’s all about spreading the love of ballet, darling!

So, follow me, my dearest readers, as I chronicle my adventure in Bishop Auckland! It's going to be a delightful whirlwind of history, dance, and perhaps a little bit of a fairytale! I’ll be sharing photos on my instagram and facebook page as I go so you can join the journey!

Stay tuned for all the pink tutu-fied excitement! And don't forget, everyone can wear a tutu! Just try it - it’ll transform your day!

Love always, Emma

P.S. Don't forget, my darlings! A few months ago I visited a wildlife sanctuary outside Derbyshire. It was incredible to see these beautiful creatures and to learn about how we can help to protect them! I took this chance to give back with a little bit of ballet in the afternoon, performing a special routine for all the sanctuary visitors! We all need a bit of light and love in our lives! It's always so much fun! xx
