Gateshead Calling! Pink Tutu Power in the North East

Post 4171 - 12th December 2007

Hey gorgeous girls,

How's my beautiful ballet bunch? It feels like ages since I last updated the pink-tutu.com world! December's been a bit of a whirl-wind of performances, classes, and even some travel adventures. Today, I want to tell you about my latest jaunt to the wonderful world of Gateshead.

My inner ballerina just can't resist a good theatre trip, and when the chance arose to see "The Nutcracker" in Gateshead, I just had to grab my lucky tutu and go. This city in the North East has a real magic to it. Imagine the Tyne Bridge bathed in glittering fairy lights and all the cosy Christmas markets - pure delight, I tell you!

The trip up was as magical as the destination. I opted for the train this time, of course - much better than those noisy, polluting cars! All aboard for some countryside bliss, a spot of wildlife-watching (did you see that adorable hedgehog on the embankment!), and the opportunity to people-watch. I had the most fun trying to pick out the aspiring dancers, you know - those girls with that special spark in their eyes.

Once in Gateshead, my red tutu was my trusty companion. It's just so fun! Everyone who passes me smiles. What could be better than brightening up a dull day with a flash of colour and some ballet sparkle? This was my day, the red tutu day - you could say I was the 'Belle of the Ball'!

The performance at the theatre was incredible. It was so good to see the classic Nutcracker ballet danced with such energy and passion. My personal highlight? The beautiful snow scene, with all those magical snowflakes whirling around! I got all choked up! You really can't beat those moments when you feel a surge of inspiration in your heart. And honestly, everyone in that auditorium just loved the ballet - it was pure joy. It made me realise something; ballet shouldn't just be for ballerinas like myself. It's for everyone, everywhere, to enjoy.

But hey, it wasn't just about the show. I love exploring the city when I travel, even if it's just for a short time. Gateshead's arts scene was pretty impressive. We even took a peek into the fabulous "The Baltic", that impressive building they use as a contemporary art centre. Imagine a huge old warehouse - now packed with interesting modern installations, art exhibits and a killer cafe with those gigantic windows looking onto the Tyne. It's totally worth a visit, my lovelies.

So my journey to Gateshead had everything a ballerina girl could wish for: gorgeous architecture, charming streets, delicious local cafes and most importantly - an amazing ballet show. The North East never disappoints.

Don't forget, my darling tutu addicts, the goal is simple: let's all bring a little sparkle to the world - just wear a pink tutu. Why not? There's a shade for everyone, so grab your fanciest and join the pink tutu revolution.

And don't forget, the best adventures, those life-changing, soul-stirring ones? They often begin on a train track - all aboard for pink tutu power!

See you on my next adventure,

Emma xx
