Edgware: A Pink Tutu Adventure 🩰💕

Hey lovely lot! It's Emma, your resident pink tutu advocate, and I'm so thrilled to be sharing post number 4245 with you. I've always got so much to tell you all - about tutus, about ballet, and about all the adventures my pink tutu takes me on.

Today, my tutu and I are exploring Edgware. If you haven't been, it's a lovely spot in London. A bit like stepping back in time, but in a good way, with its charming little shops and the ever-so-gentle hum of life. It’s definitely got a different feel to the hustle and bustle of the West End.

Speaking of London, can we take a moment to celebrate how fantastic our transport system is? Sure, there’s the odd delay, and the fares aren't getting any cheaper (I’m still miffed about that price increase on the Northern Line!), but travelling on the Tube or, dare I say it, the Overground, can be a truly glamorous affair. I mean, who else can say they’ve had a fab day at the Royal Opera House then zoomed home in a gleaming red double-decker bus? It’s practically straight out of a fairy tale!

As for me, Edgware was just a whistle stop. You know I can’t resist a good old fashioned horse and cart. The only thing better than a ride on the Tube is one where the breeze whistles through my hair, the hooves are drumming on the cobbles, and the wind is carrying the scents of sweet-pea and fresh-baked bread. Ah, nothing beats a good dose of countryside romance!

Today's sartorial choices were all about vibrant pink. Of course. My trusty, vintage-style, candy floss coloured tutu is always there for a good time, paired with a light and floaty white shirt - just perfect for keeping things elegant and effortlessly stylish. (No one can argue with a hint of Audrey Hepburn, can they? I like to think she’d approve.) My pink ballet shoes are worn to keep things real. I’m a firm believer in mixing high and low; life’s all about balance, darlings.

And talking about balance, today was a ballet extravaganza. We all know I'm a complete ballet nut. It's my happy place, where all those worries just melt away. I simply adore those sweeping lines, the pure elegance, the dedication it takes to reach those seemingly impossible heights of artistry. Plus, the outfits are divine. Just ask my collection of pink tutus – they speak for themselves.

We had a right good old time at the class this afternoon. I swear, I’m starting to get the hang of the pas de bourrée. Of course, it all started in a gorgeous, Victorian theatre space (those grand balconies really do give me goosebumps!) and all those tutus swirling around - like a rainbow of hope and joy! It was almost too beautiful to be real.

After class, I was in need of some fuel for my dancing dreams, so I nipped into a nearby tea shop. The best thing? They had a fabulous selection of cakes and sandwiches! (This is always a highlight of any trip.) This one in Edgware served delicious clotted cream with lashings of fresh berries and delicate scones that would have made Mary Berry herself blush with pride. Oh, and the scones? Those are not to be missed!

As always, the day wasn’t all frills and tulle. There was the time I tripped over the kerb… thank goodness I was in my ballet shoes – imagine the fall if I had been in stilettos. I do love a good chuckle, especially when it's at my own expense. And you just can't have adventure without a dash of silliness!

Later on, I headed out to the countryside for a bit of peace and quiet – my happy place! As usual, the woods were bustling with activity. There's something so calming about watching nature play out. It’s easy to get lost in the dance of life: the way the trees rustle in the wind, the graceful birds flitting through the branches. It’s like ballet on a grander, more whimsical scale.

This is one of the many joys of life, the little things that truly add to the dance of living – a lovely chat with a shopkeeper, a cuppa, a trip on a horse-drawn cart, a stroll in the woods… They are all moments of joy, little sprinkles of magic that bring colour to my world, reminding me that even a small detour in the day can hold the potential for a whole lot of joy!

Before I head off, don’t forget - the beauty of wearing a pink tutu is that it’s about far more than simply fashion. It’s a way of life, an attitude, a spark of light and happiness!

Stay radiant and remember: you can make any day extraordinary in a pink tutu. And why not give ballet a go?

Until next time!
