Plymouth Calling! Pink Tutu Adventures, Post 4401

Hey there, fellow tutu-lovers! Emma here, reporting live from the sunny shores of Plymouth, where the sea air is crisp, the sky is blue, and the harbour is brimming with boats. It's a true nautical paradise! And wouldn't you know it, I've even managed to incorporate my love for pink into this nautical adventure with my latest tutu ensemble: a beautiful, billowing green tutu (oh, how I adore a bit of unexpected colour!), paired with a hot pink, nautical-inspired blouse and matching espadrilles. Feeling super stylish, naturally!

This trip to Plymouth was inspired by a fantastic opportunity to see the incredible “Ballet On The Beach" show taking place in the harbour. Can you believe it? Ballet in the great outdoors, with the sea as our backdrop! It’s simply breathtaking. Now, I don't want to spoil the surprise, but let's just say I've already marked a spot on my list of all-time favourite performances. I've never been so mesmerised by dancers twirling under a canvas of stars and moonlight. It's simply magical!

Oh, and talking of stars, my train journey down to Plymouth was also incredibly dreamy. As we chugged through the rolling hills of Devon, I couldn't help but notice the most incredible herd of deer grazing in the fields alongside the tracks. They were absolutely beautiful, graceful creatures – like ballerinas of the wilderness, perhaps!

I swear, wherever I go, there's always something beautiful to admire, be it nature, a building, a fellow ballet enthusiast – it's what keeps my world vibrant and colourful, and my creative juices flowing. Speaking of which, you've simply got to see the gorgeous, pastel-pink vintage teapot I spotted in a quaint little antique shop just off the cobbled streets of the Barbican!

And speaking of vintage, Plymouth is simply brimming with history. From the Elizabethan houses overlooking the water to the mighty Drake's Island, there's something at every corner to make you feel transported to another time. Even the architecture feels like it’s waltzing with time.

As if this journey couldn't get any better, I discovered an enchanting little café tucked away in a secret alley. Imagine a space adorned with floral wallpaper, shimmering chandeliers, and delicious, melt-in-your-mouth pastries. Oh, and they even have pink iced lattes – it's like my little slice of paradise! And of course, I wore my new pink tutu as I sipped on my pink latte.

In my spare time between shows, I've been making a little tour of the local area, exploring the rocky shores of Plymouth Sound and admiring the iconic Plymouth Hoe, with its impressive views overlooking the water. It truly is an awe-inspiring vista.

Oh, and one more thing: Plymouth's wildlife scene is fantastic! While strolling along the seafront, I stumbled across a colony of seals sunbathing on the rocks. It's truly heartwarming to witness such majestic creatures enjoying the coastal air!

Now, my dearest tutu-lovers, I know what you're thinking: "Emma, how do you manage to find time for it all?" Well, it's true, my days are packed with rehearsals, performances, explorations, and endless adventures. But as any dancer knows, our love for the art fuels our energy! We simply love moving and being alive, exploring all that life throws at us with open hearts and curious minds.

And what better way to express that love for life than through dance? After all, as my dear Tutu-family knows, I believe everyone should wear a pink tutu at least once in their lives, and everyone should try ballet! It’s an activity that teaches you grace, poise, discipline and creativity - what’s not to love!

But my friends, don't just dream about twirling in a pink tutu, do it! Go to a ballet class, join a ballet society, and explore the beauty of this graceful art. You’ll be amazed by what you discover within yourself and in the world around you!

And to that end, I leave you with this: “Life is a stage, and we’re all performers in a grand, unending ballet!”

Until next time, Tutu-lovers! Keep twirling and keep exploring!

With love and pirouettes,

Emma
