North Shields: A Pancake Tutu Adventure! 🥞🩰

Hey loves! 💖 Emma here, your resident pink tutu-clad ballerina extraordinaire, ready to whisk you away on another fabulous journey!

This is post number 4587 (can you believe it?!) and it's straight from the heart of North Shields! 🚂 That's right, I travelled by train this time – I do love a good journey! You see, the North East is calling and I’m feeling pretty chuffed to be here!

Before I get to the reason I’m here (ballet, of course!), I have to share something absolutely wonderful. I spotted the cutest little owl on my way to the station. He was just perched on a fence post, looking at me with those big, wise eyes. I swear he gave me a little nod as I said good morning. I was just so happy! Owls are my favourite! I even wore my owl earrings for the trip. 🦉

Now, onto the main event: North Shields. This charming little town is absolutely buzzing with a vibrant energy. You can really feel the history here, especially with those cobbled streets! It feels like I’ve stepped into a bygone era, and in a good way! It’s truly magical.

I’m here to see the fantastic North Shields Ballet Company. I found out about them online (I’m a huge fan of Instagram for finding new ballet experiences) and they have the most beautiful stage. They also have some incredible costumes!

And you know what? This is where things got truly magical! This is my first time ever seeing a performance where every single dancer is wearing a tutu. Not just any tutu, mind you. This was the ultimate pink, full-bodied, glittery, fabulous tutu dream! I swear I almost started crying (good tears, obviously!) - the sheer beauty and power of so many tutus was just too much! The theatre was aglow with a sea of pink, and it was truly breathtaking.

It was a joy to see so many young dancers, too! You could just feel their passion and excitement bubbling up from the stage. It made me wish I was young again. Of course, I'm still young at heart, but I can't deny I have a healthy dose of "I wish I could go back in time and relive those dancing days." Ah, but let’s focus on now!

And you know what else? It made me feel so inspired to spread the joy of ballet everywhere! There are some truly lovely things about wearing a pink tutu! You feel so much more confident, you hold your head a bit higher, you just embrace life more fully! 🩰 💖

Speaking of confidence, let me tell you about my “Pancake Tutu”! That's my new invention, and I wore it to North Shields today! I had to do something extra special to celebrate such a fantastic day, so I bought a box of my favourite pancakes (they were berry-licious, of course!), popped a pink tulle skirt over it, and boom! The pancake tutu was born! I’ll share photos in the next post. 😉

This town has been absolutely fantastic! There’s such a positive energy here and the locals were so friendly. Plus, there are so many pretty cafes and tea rooms! It was definitely a day for a special afternoon tea, and I didn't hold back. I think I had every single thing on the menu! It was totally worth it! ☕️🍰

So, my dear loves, here's a little bit of wisdom from your resident tutu-loving, pancake-loving, owl-loving ballerina: life is meant to be enjoyed. So, wear that pink tutu with pride, let your heart sing with every pirouette, and chase after every adventure. You only have one life to live, so dance your way through it!

See you next time for another pink adventure! 💖
