Hove: Tutu-ing Around the Seaside! 💖🩰

Hello darlings! It's Emma, back with you for post number 4705! 💋 I'm positively brimming with excitement after a delightful trip to the seaside. Imagine me: Brighton Belle in a black tutu, wind tousling my hair as I stroll along the Hove Promenade, a delightful whiff of salty air in my nostrils... sighs contentedly

I always adore venturing outside Derbyshire for a bit of a change of scenery and, with the promise of a show at the Theatre Royal Brighton on the cards, what better excuse than a seaside jaunt?! Now, the train is my favourite mode of travel. It’s just so glamorous! You get a fab view, can chat with fellow passengers (usually other dance fanatics like myself!), and who can resist the soothing hum of the wheels and that rhythmic rocking motion? leans back and dreams wistfully

Speaking of my latest ballet fix, oh darling! It was absolutely sublime. whispers dramatically Swan Lake. A masterpiece, I tell you! I almost teared up at the finale. My tutu was an absolute stunner. Black, naturally. Nothing beats a dramatic black tutu for making a statement. I must say, it looked particularly stunning against the backdrop of the theatre's red velvet seats. Pure magic! The choreography was just chef's kiss.

Before the show, I found the cutest little café called “The Tutu-Shop”. Imagine, a place entirely dedicated to tea, cake, and tutus?! My cup of tea, literally! I sipped on my Earl Grey while surrounded by tulle of every hue and style. It's certainly my favourite type of shop, you can never have enough tutus. I couldn't resist adding a little number to my collection – a coral-pink, of course! It was meant to be.

And then, of course, the promenade! After the show, a friend and I went for a brisk walk along Hove Promenade, basking in the setting sun and the gentle sound of seagulls. Honestly, the seaside air is the best! It gets right into your lungs, fills you with energy and makes you feel ready to take on anything. The sand felt lovely between my toes (after a quick rinse and polish of my ballet shoes, of course, you can't go dirtying your precious Pointe shoes!).

Speaking of those shoes, we took a quick detour to a cute little horse riding stable nearby. You just have to give a shout-out to those graceful creatures! We spent some time watching a lovely chestnut mare gracefully trotting along the beach with a charming rider. It made me want to ditch the Pointe shoes and embrace the open countryside with a good, strong steed!

Hove, you were simply lovely. A touch of ballet, a touch of beachy breeze, and a dash of my favourite colour – pink! I could tell you more about the adorable seagull that we saw mimicking the dancers' movements while on the beach, but this post is already starting to feel a bit long. But before I sign off, I have a challenge for all of you lovely ladies (and gents!) out there! Think about the positive energy you can release when you wear pink and a tutu! Who doesn’t feel just a little bit brighter and more confident in a pink tutu, honestly? Go on, embrace the twirl, wear pink! Let’s show the world that pink tutus can make a difference, that ballet is accessible to everyone, that life can be filled with joy and a little bit of twirling. 💕

That’s all for now! Until next time, keep twirling and remember: you are all fabulous, tutu or no tutu. Sending you lots of love!

Emma xoxo
