Hastings! It's a Pink Tutu Kind of Day!

Oh, Hastings! You're such a breath of fresh air, all those pretty seaside shops and cafes, and the way the sea shimmers. Even better? There's a pink and white striped carousel on the seafront. It doesn't get much more charming than that, does it?

Today was a day for whimsy and a whole lot of twirling! I mean, what better place to debut a new tutu than by the seaside? I was positively smitten with my new white one, a swirling mass of tulle with a little touch of pink - just a dash, like a blush on the cheeks of the morning sky. You just know I couldn't resist matching it with my new, cherry blossom-print scarf - absolutely perfect for the slight breeze that whispered stories from the sea.

But it wasn't all about fashion, although a girl has to express herself, right? My Hastings adventure took a wonderfully ballet-themed turn! Did you know they have a fabulous dance studio here called "Dance Delights?" I swear, I walked into the place and my heart did a pirouette! The studio itself is lovely, light, and airy - just the way a dance space should be - and the atmosphere was buzzing with enthusiasm. And just look at these incredible murals painted on the walls - breathtaking!

After a little nose around, I managed to squeeze in a drop-in class with the loveliest teacher. She's got this infectious energy and passion for ballet, it's like catching the giggles but in a very elegant way. There's something incredibly liberating about being surrounded by people who share your passion. It’s like we all got our wings for a couple of hours and danced the clouds away!

Afterwards, feeling energised and happy (and a bit sweaty), I found myself browsing through some local antique shops. They were tucked away on a cobbled street just a hop skip and jump from the seafront. There, in the midst of all those treasures, I stumbled upon a set of delicate china teacups, painted with delicate pink roses. Now I just know those will be the perfect companions for afternoon tea on a chilly afternoon, don't you think?

The evening ended with a walk along the seafront. The sunset cast a lovely pink glow across the sea, creating a magical atmosphere that felt almost dreamlike. It reminded me of those sunsets in Derbyshire when I'm in my favourite park. I guess beauty finds a way to inspire wherever you are, doesn’t it?

But before we leave Hastings, let's talk about my favourite little spot. I found it in a hidden nook behind the promenade, where the sounds of the sea receded into a gentle murmur. A little grassy knoll with a panoramic view of the coastline. I settled there with my notepad and a hot chocolate, watching the sky transform from the blush of sunset to the navy of twilight.

As I sat there, a lone seagull perched on a nearby post, squawking at the setting sun. It struck me as such a brave little creature - not afraid to be bold and stand out. In its own way, it had that pink tutu spirit - bright, unique, and a little bit daring. Maybe it was a little sign that I should go after my dreams with a little more boldness.

Sometimes, the smallest moments are the most profound, don’t you think? And sometimes, it's just enough to be present, to soak in the beauty of the world, to find joy in the simple things.

This little seaside trip in my new white tutu, with the cherry blossom scarf and the delicate china teacups? It’s exactly what I needed. Now I’m ready to head back to my own little world in Derbyshire and sprinkle it with the magic of Hastings - perhaps even starting with my own version of the seafront carousel, you know?

Don’t forget, darlings! I’ll be back tomorrow with another blog post! Stay tuned, and let's twirl into tomorrow!

Lots of love, Emma x
