Royal Leamington Spa - Post #4771 🩰💖

Oh, hello my lovelies! It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina, back from a whirlwind trip to the beautiful Royal Leamington Spa. My trusty travel companion, Rupert the Shire horse (yes, you read that right!), got us there in style, pulling my pink and white striped carriage through rolling Warwickshire countryside. He deserves a special mention, you know, because that journey wasn't all smooth sailing - a mischievous robin decided Rupert's ears were an excellent nesting spot, leading to a bit of a panicked dash (which, in my opinion, made for an even more charming adventure).

Speaking of adventures, my trip to Leamington Spa was chock-a-block with all things fabulous and utterly delightful. It was my first time visiting this gorgeous little town, and it did not disappoint. I absolutely adored its charming cobblestone streets, quaint tea shops with their enticing displays of scones and clotted cream, and, of course, its gorgeous Regency architecture - like something out of a Jane Austen novel!

First stop, The Royal Spa Centre - an iconic building that boasts one of the oldest theatres in the UK! I, of course, couldn't resist a ballet show there, featuring none other than the renowned Leamington Spa Ballet Company. The dancers were phenomenal! It was like witnessing pure magic, so elegant, so graceful, every step, every pose was simply breathtaking. Their passion and talent truly inspired me, and reminded me why I love ballet so much.

Speaking of ballet, I couldn't resist popping into The Royal Spa Centre’s beautiful dance studio – talk about a gorgeous setting! I mean, could it have been more fitting for my favourite pink tutu to take centre stage? It's quite hard to find the time to dance while on the road, what with all the touring and the blog, but that studio was just too tempting to resist. So, after changing in my portable dressing room (more on that in a later post!) I spent the afternoon pirouette-ing my heart out in this heavenly space. You just know those tutus, especially when they are a shade of the prettiest pink, really do belong on a stage.

My time in Leamington Spa wasn’t just about ballet though, my lovelies! After a delicious afternoon tea, I had the pleasure of experiencing the Royal Pump Rooms – a beautifully preserved relic from Leamington Spa’s ‘golden age’. Apparently they have all sorts of fabulous mineral waters, with medicinal properties. I sampled a little bit of the Leamington Spa Salt Water – definitely one of my new favourite drinks! I can’t promise I tasted its rumoured medicinal benefits, but let’s just say, it’s an absolute treat for the tastebuds.

Speaking of treats, no visit to Leamington Spa would be complete without trying their famous speciality – The Leamington Spa Custard Tart. The perfect balance of creamy, custardy goodness and a deliciously flaky pastry crust - pure culinary genius, darling! I definitely indulged in more than one. I couldn’t resist snapping a pic with a few of the local ‘pink tutu loving’ ladies, who I found in the park – we even started a 'Pink Tutu Society’ there and then – it’s a growing trend! Who knew that Leamington Spa was full of so many fellow enthusiasts with a shared passion for twirling, pink and ballet!

The evening brought me back to the Royal Spa Centre for a breathtaking performance by a talented group of local musicians. As a fellow performer, I could feel the raw energy in the room and was blown away by their skill and dedication. I even caught a sneak peek at one of the young cellists who looked so excited to be playing. Music really does touch the soul doesn’t it?

After a leisurely stroll through Leamington Spa’s beautifully maintained gardens I realised it was time to bid farewell to this magical town. Leamington Spa has truly captivated my heart and I’m already dreaming about returning, with a little pink tutu-loving society all my own!

Until next time my dears! Remember, wear pink and dance your hearts out. And never stop dreaming.

Catch you all later!

With love and a whole lot of twirls,

Emma 💖
