Leith Calling! Tutu Adventures in Edinburgh, Post #4785

Hey there, darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-loving ballet enthusiast, reporting live from the vibrant streets of Leith, Edinburgh!

I know what you're thinking: Edinburgh? Isn't that a bit...well, windy for a tutu? But trust me, darlings, Edinburgh's charm outweighs the odd gust of air. And anyway, what's a little wind when you're twirling with joy in your favourite tulle?

This trip was all about a magical mix of culture and a dash of… well, me. I'm talking ballet of course! After spending the past week practicing at the Derbyshire Dance Academy, I decided a change of scenery was just the ticket. Plus, Edinburgh is a haven for dance lovers - think ballet, hip-hop, street dance, the works! My heart just about burst out of my tutu with excitement.

A Pink-hued Odyssey by Train

For this adventure, I took a splendid journey by train, which just adds a touch of old-fashioned elegance, don't you think? It's something about those carriage windows, the gentle rhythm of the tracks, and the scent of leather… It truly gets the creative juices flowing, which, as you all know, is essential for my creative tutu creations. I had the chance to observe some real life character sketches during my journey; a well-dressed chap with a bowler hat (a bit of a Cary Grant vibe!), and a family of babbling babies who were all wearing tiny pink hats - it was adorable. Clearly, they're all inspired by my pink tutu philosophy! 😉

A Tutu Walk Through Leith

Now, the Leith district of Edinburgh was my happy place for the weekend. I couldn't resist getting my camera out to capture the colourful sights. It's filled with cobbled streets and harbour views, and these vibrant little cafes that are perfect for stopping in to sip some tea (or a decadent hot chocolate!). My pink tutu certainly drew some admiring glances - especially from the children, who all want to give a twirl (so cute!). Their parents seem intrigued too - I wonder if my 'Tutu For All' movement is slowly catching on? fingers crossed!

Dancing with the Stars… Literally!

Of course, no visit to Edinburgh is complete without a trip to the Edinburgh Playhouse. You see, there was this phenomenal production of 'The Nutcracker' they were performing. sigh The dancing, the music, the dazzling costumes - pure magic! Let's just say my pink tutu had some stiff competition in the wardrobe department, but my spirit certainly shone through. And as a bonus, I caught sight of a little girl in a tiny pink tutu, waving excitedly in the front row. This, my dears, is what my life is all about - sparking that joy and wonder of ballet in young hearts.

The Majestic Horse-Drawn Carriage

On a sunny afternoon, I decided to add a little romance to my Edinburgh escapade with a delightful horse-drawn carriage ride. The sound of the horses' hooves gently tapping the cobblestone streets and the crisp autumn air rushing past was simply magical! And speaking of romance, a handsome chap asked if he could walk with me along the Water of Leith path. He even admitted that my tutu "sparkled like a fairy tale." blush

Wild about Edinburgh

Now, one thing I love about Scotland is the stunning wildlife. I found myself mesmerized by the flocks of geese at the harbour - their sleek feathers, the way they honked in unison. I even spotted a tiny squirrel scuttling up a tree in the Edinburgh Botanic Gardens. I have to say, it's very difficult to resist the urge to wear a tutu amongst the animals!

Back to Derbyshire, Inspired by Edinburgh

The weekend went by in a blink, and now it's time to return to the peace and quiet of Derbyshire. I'll definitely miss Edinburgh's vibrant energy, but I'll cherish the memories I made. My journey has been filled with captivating sights, exciting encounters, and an endless dose of ballet-fueled inspiration.

And my darlings, this is the beauty of a pink tutu! It invites you to embrace the wonder of life, whether it's the twirl of a dancer or the whisper of a Scottish breeze.

So, what's next? Keep those eyes glued to www.pink-tutu.com for my daily blog, where I'll be sharing more tales of my adventures and, of course, inspiring everyone to embrace their own inner tutu! And who knows, maybe next time I'll be posting from the cobblestone streets of London or perhaps the romantic canals of Venice?

Until then, darling, twirl with joy!

Love, Emma xoxo
