Nottingham: A Whirlwind of Pink Tutu-ness (Post #4907)

Hello my darling dancers and tutu-lovers! It's Emma, back with another exciting installment from my whirlwind travels. This time, I've found myself in the charming city of Nottingham, a place where history and modernity dance in perfect harmony, much like my own wardrobe (though mine definitely leans towards the pink and fluffy side).

Before I tell you all about my Nottingham adventures, I just have to share my latest discovery: I've found a delightful little antique shop overflowing with vintage ballet tutus! It's like a tutu wonderland. I felt like a kid in a candy shop (but instead of candy, there were layers of delicate tulle and satin). It's almost impossible to resist, even though I have quite a collection back home in Derbyshire!

I just know you're dying to hear about my Nottingham escapades, so let's get right to it. This trip, my faithful travelling companion (my trusty pink suitcase) is bursting with the most amazing outfit: a custom-made white tutu, shimmering with delicate silver sequins, and my favourite pink ballet flats (because even a white tutu needs a touch of pink).

My first stop, of course, was Nottingham's historic castle. Now, it's no secret that I love a bit of history, but it wasn't just the castle that captivated me; it was the dramatic backdrop, perfect for a photoshoot with my tutu! I took some gorgeous pictures - you can check them out on Instagram - but honestly, it was the sheer thrill of dancing on the castle grounds that made the trip unforgettable. Imagine, a girl in a white tutu, twirling amidst ancient stone walls - it felt like stepping into a fairytale!

Later that day, I popped into a charming cafe for a delightful cream tea. I do love a good slice of cake with a cup of Earl Grey, and Nottingham certainly knows how to treat a ballerina! And you know me, I just can't resist a little fashion show in public. I twirled, I posed, and the cafe staff were all smiles. They seemed particularly fond of my sparkly silver shoes!

The evening was devoted to the stage! The Theatre Royal in Nottingham is absolutely beautiful. This magnificent building held a fantastic contemporary ballet show that I’d been wanting to see for ages. My jaw dropped when I walked into the auditorium. It was filled with vibrant energy and passion, which was only amplified by the talented dancers performing on stage. It was like a magical blend of movement and artistry, a visual feast that left me utterly enthralled!

After the show, my energy was still buzzing. My friend, a lovely horsewoman called Emily, suggested we ride down by the River Trent. And wouldn't you know it, there I was, in my pink tutu and white shoes, riding through the gentle countryside! Yes, I really did ride through Nottingham in a tutu! Now, I'll admit, riding in a tutu is slightly impractical - it's best not to do it if there’s a stiff wind! But honestly, the wind wasn't strong at all. It was simply perfect.

I ended the evening in a cosy little pub near the river. My favourite dish there is fish and chips – who can resist classic pub fare, especially after a day filled with adventures? I ended the day feeling refreshed, content and full of inspiration. Nottingham is certainly a city with a lot to offer, especially to a girl like me who believes life is best experienced in a pink tutu.

Now, back to the question of whether Nottingham would inspire my friends to embrace a pink tutu! My adventures, my dance lessons, and even my morning coffee - it's all part of my mission to bring the beauty of ballet and the joy of tutus to everyone.

For me, a tutu isn't just an outfit; it's a symbol of confidence, creativity, and of course, a touch of playful femininity. It's about expressing yourself, breaking free from convention, and feeling like a graceful ballerina, even if you're just grabbing a latte. And what better way to embrace life than with a little sparkle and a whole lot of pink tutu-ness?

Until next time, my dear friends! Remember, never let anyone tell you that you're not meant to twirl!

Stay fabulous!

Love,

Emma xoxo
