Bristol Calling! (Post #4908)

Hey gorgeous girlies!

Emma here, reporting live from Bristol, where the air is buzzing with the crisp winter energy and the cobblestones are whispering stories of times gone by. It’s a city bursting with culture, which as you know is right up my alley!

So, for today’s little adventure, I decided to embrace the bohemian vibes of Bristol by taking a journey straight out of a fairy tale: a scenic train journey across the rolling countryside, watching the world drift by through the window like a watercolour painting.

Imagine, my lovelies, the sun dipping below the horizon, casting the landscape in golden hues, and me, of course, nestled comfortably in my plush velvet carriage, the gentle rocking of the train a lullaby.

Yes, there was nothing quite like feeling the wind in my hair (don’t worry, I was wearing a fabulous pink headscarf, so the wind could only blow a few loose tendrils – you know, to enhance the romance!) as I passed through those magical rolling hills. All I could think about was "Where in the world are we now?", just like a real explorer in a glamorous vintage frock. (In fact, it wasn’t actually a vintage frock – a fab new designer number that just happens to have a flattering vintage feel). And let’s not forget the most important accessory of the day: my brand-new pink tutu. This one is absolutely exquisite, and so comfortable to wear! It’s perfect for dancing on a train journey, even if it’s just a twirl or two!

Oh my! The train journey felt like a fairytale journey, with a delicious pink and purple twilight and all the mystery of the world being just a whisper beyond the train window. I spent a lot of the journey dreaming about my exciting schedule, with plans for a “Tutu and Teahouse Tour of Bristol" It involves a spot of morning ballet with the local academy (I’m sure they will have the very best of pink tutus) , followed by afternoon tea with my friend Poppy – who, as you know, is a fantastic artist, and absolutely loves tutus just as much as me. We're going to do some sketching, take photos, and inspire the world with the wonder that is Bristol. I think a new collection of "pink-tutu-inspired" illustrations is just around the corner, so stay tuned!

I’ll tell you what - Bristol was waiting for me. This charming city seems to have the most beautiful cafes, a treasure trove of antiques, and a little secret courtyard around every corner that's waiting to be discovered. You know I’m obsessed with teashops (who isn't?!) and oh my - Bristol just keeps turning up teashops, more and more delightful than the last, like a secret society of tea-loving fairies! I must have tried at least five new brews – some of them had flavours I had never even dreamed of before. A lavender infused with blackberry? Yes, please!

We couldn’t resist having a photoshoot in the courtyard of The Bristol Art Gallery and the light was just glorious – those colours and patterns… everything about it screamed ‘pink-tutu’. You can just imagine us, with Poppy doing some graceful poses and me, twirling with abandon – a whirlwind of pink and passion. My goodness, we looked just like two ballerinas transported to the world of the paintings we were admiring. Oh, my lovely girlies! That was such an empowering moment for me: the way the art, the fashion, the light and the movement all blended together into something so beautiful – I felt it truly brought out my creative side. It’s always amazing to have an inspirational burst and see a vision come to life so unexpectedly – what a gorgeous reminder of how powerful creativity is.

And that evening? We headed to a spectacular show at Bristol Hippodrome - a ballet set against the backdrop of the 1950s, which just made the tutus more alluring! The way they glided and danced around the stage was just heavenly and the costumes were absolute eye candy, full of dazzling colour. My inner-dancer felt the rhythm so keenly. (And, let’s not forget that it also had me longing for vintage fashion, just so I can twirl around in a full skirt with a big smile, all because of the wonder and beauty that a pink tutu can conjure). This is the perfect time for us all to get involved in a new passion for pink and for all things ballet. It's about unleashing the graceful and glamorous beauty that lives inside us!

Oh my, there was just so much beauty and excitement packed into this magical day! It makes me want to burst into a graceful twirl and let it all out. But for now, I'll leave you with this - Bristol is a true paradise for tutu lovers and dance enthusiasts alike – it’s just the most amazing blend of vintage charm, modern energy and a vibrant creative energy! It was such a dream come true!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to catch my horse, the best way to end a day in the country - so I can head back home, to Derbyshire, to reflect upon another delightful adventure. But not without my pink tutu - it’s definitely becoming a trademark look that always makes me feel fab! And if you feel the urge to take a twirl or dance around your home, in your best pink outfit, I say: Go for it! You know it’ll make your heart sing and make you feel amazing! And always remember: everyone is a beautiful ballerina. We just need a pink tutu to help us remember that.

Until next time my lovely pink tutu enthusiasts!

Love, Emma
