Oh, hello my gorgeous lovelies! It's Emma here, bringing you a burst of pink from the delightful town of Stockport! This was my first foray into the lovely North West, and it was an absolute delight. The railway journey itself was magical; I adore train travel, something about the rhythm of the rails and the changing scenery that just fills me with excitement. Of course, I was all decked out in my new pink tulle tutu, making me the envy of every little girl who passed by, and let's face it, a few envious glances from their dads, too! ๐Ÿ˜‰

My day in Stockport began with a visit to the Stockport Air Raid Shelters. While they're not usually associated with tutus, the history just captivated me. It was fascinating to see how people adapted and endured during such challenging times. There's something truly awe-inspiring about humanity's resilience.

After that, I was in for a treat โ€“ a trip to the beautiful Stockport Town Hall. This building is truly stunning; I'm talking beautiful Victorian architecture, adorned with intricate details, and topped with a fantastic clock tower. It was the perfect spot for a ballet photo op โ€“ I simply had to strike a pose against that backdrop!

Lunch was an absolute delight at the bustling market in Stockport. The food stalls were a colourful spectacle and the smells... divine! I indulged in a scrumptious cheese and chutney sandwich โ€“ a classic treat, but elevated with local ingredients. I have to say, Stockport is making a real effort to promote its local food, and it really is top-notch!

Now, I can't talk about Stockport without mentioning the Stockport Plaza. I am completely enchanted by this Art Deco gem โ€“ the architectural style, the history, the ambiance - it truly took my breath away. And to think it was built in the 1930s! Imagine the stories it could tell!

You'll be happy to know, the Stockport Plaza was absolutely the perfect spot for some twirling in my pink tulle tutu. It just felt magical, even a bit whimsical. Imagine the grand stage, with sparkling lights and all, the echoes of dancers and actors echoing through its halls - it just begged to be twirled upon.

One thing that really struck me about Stockport was the stunning countryside on its outskirts. It was almost like stepping back in time โ€“ the rolling green hills, the picturesque farmsteads, and even the little village pubs, it was pure magic! My inner equestrian yearned for a ride on a majestic steed, galloping across those wide-open fields. Oh, to be a Victorian heroine!

In the evening, I decided to make a trip to the famous Mersey Valley RSPB Reserve. While I didn't see any eagles, the tranquility of the reserve and the beauty of the wetlands really calmed my soul. Nature always has a way of doing that to me! Just standing on the bank, watching the geese fly overhead, and listening to the chirping of the birds made me feel completely at peace.

To my absolute delight, I spotted a family of adorable water voles, happily scurrying about the water's edge. Their little faces were just the cutest, I almost forgot my good manners and nearly screamed in excitement.

The whole experience just reminded me to keep exploring, to cherish every moment, and to never forget the beauty of the world around us. Whether it's a majestic cityscape, a historical monument, or a peaceful wetland, it's the people, the experiences, and the discoveries that make each journey special.

So, to everyone who's reading this, my lovely pink tutu sisters, I urge you, don't just stay at home! Pack a tutu, a positive attitude, and a good pair of walking shoes (for those historical monuments!), and go explore! The world is just waiting for you to twirl and shine!

See you next time, darlings!

With love,

Emma x
