Leith, oh Leith! (Post #5043) πŸ©°πŸ’•

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, bringing you all the latest from my adventures in the land of tutus and pink! Today's post is dedicated to the gorgeous city of Leith, where I just spent the most magical weekend. And guess what? I got to wear my black tutu! It was the perfect combination of elegant and edgy for a city with such a cool, artistic vibe.

Now, I know what you're thinking. Black tutu? Isn't Emma all about pink? Well, my loves, a little bit of black is like a sprinkle of spice – just enough to make the pink even brighter. It's all about finding balance, don't you think? Just like a good ballet performance, a well-balanced outfit makes the heart sing. πŸ’–

So, let's dive into my Leith adventures. First things first: travel! It wouldn't be an Emma post without some transport talk, right? This time I decided to go by train. Honestly, the train journey was so relaxing, it practically felt like an extended ballet barre class. I put on my headphones, enjoyed the scenery (even though it was mostly grey skies and drizzle – bless Britain, it's never predictable), and let my imagination wander. I dreamt of waltzing down the aisle of the carriage, swirling with the rhythm of the tracks!

Anyway, arriving in Leith felt like stepping into a whole new world. The charming cobbled streets, the old-world buildings with their history whispering through the cracks, and the energy buzzing in the air – oh, the air was just intoxicating. This is why I love travelling, my darlings! You never know what new gems you'll uncover.

After dropping my bags at the quaintest little B&B, I set out to explore the vibrant waterfront. It was straight out of a picture book! The sun even came out to play, peeking through the clouds like a shy ballerina. And guess what? There were penguins! Yes, you read that right. Adorable penguins waddling about, completely unfazed by the bustling humans. They looked so elegant in their tuxedo coats, just like my black tutu! πŸ˜‚ I couldn't help but think, "There goes a true ballerina!"

And of course, my adventures couldn't be complete without a bit of ballet magic. There's this incredible dance studio I found called the "Leith Dance Academy." They offered a drop-in ballet class on Saturday morning, and let me tell you, it was fantastic! All these different dancers, all with their own stories and skills. We even had a guest teacher from Edinburgh who led a fantastic contemporary class. Talk about an inspiring Saturday morning!

After the class, feeling a little tired but very accomplished, I had the most scrumptious brunch at a little cafe with a view. Freshly squeezed orange juice, fluffy scrambled eggs, and homemade granola. You could taste the sunshine in every bite! It was the perfect fuel for exploring Leith's artistic side.

Speaking of artistic side, I fell in love with the Leith Theatre! It has such a captivating history – it was a real working theatre in the 1930s. Even though it's closed now, the majestic faΓ§ade alone is worth a visit. And of course, I can't imagine a trip to a theatre without experiencing a little drama, right? So, I went to see a truly moving play, "The Ballad of the Salmon," by the Leith Theatre Company. The acting was incredible, the music was hauntingly beautiful, and the themes resonated so deeply with my own love for stories and adventure. I found myself wishing I could just twirl on stage with the actors – but I suppose they wouldn't let me up there with my tutu! πŸ˜‚

Speaking of tutus, my loves, I just have to say this: Leith is one of those places where a tutu just feels right! It's a city that embraces its own uniqueness, celebrates creativity, and lives for moments of wonder. And that's exactly what a tutu stands for. So, go ahead, take a leap of faith and try one on! Who knows, maybe it will become your new everyday uniform like it's become mine.

My trip to Leith was a whirlwind of colours, emotions, and unexpected joy. And the best part? I discovered a new side of my own inner ballerina, the side that embraces a touch of black and twirls with the wind. It was a weekend to remember, a testament to the beauty of exploring and, dare I say, a reminder to embrace all things pink and fabulous, even a little black!

That's it from me for today, darlings! I'll be back tomorrow with more pink-tutu adventures, this time from a secret, magical destination. Keep twirling, my loves!

Lots of love,
