Warrington Whirlwind: Post 5189

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, and I'm so excited to share my adventures with you all. This is my 5189th post (can you believe it?) and it’s already packed with excitement! I'm so busy with my blog and my life, which keeps me on the move, but I'd rather be in a tutu than any old, comfy armchair! So grab a cuppa, pop on a fab track, and get ready to see the world through pink-tinted lenses (and maybe a little tulle).

The Pink Train to Warrington

Right, this is the best bit: it started this morning with a journey on the train, up to lovely Warrington. You know me, a girl can't travel anywhere without at least a splash of pink, so my dress was the perfect hue – fuchsia with a ruffled skirt, very "ballerina in a field of flowers".

Oh, and I must tell you, the carriage I ended up in was filled with excited families heading to the panto. All dressed up in glittery hats and silly Christmas jumpers, it really added to the festive atmosphere. Don’t tell anyone but I absolutely LOVE pantomimes. If I could do another show every Christmas I would – but for now I have to stick to being a "real" ballerina and that’s ok because honestly, being a real dancer is all my heart desires. And you all know how much I love wearing pink tutus!

A Bit of a Stiff Tutu, Actually!

I am doing a show today in Warrington. The big highlight? I get to wear a stiff tutu! Isn't that just the dream?! I mean, can there be anything more magnificent? A rigid, perfect, tutu silhouette, like a frozen ballerina’s form. It’s hard to believe that these elaborate structures can really be supported by a body that can actually jump! Oh to be young, and bendy, and pink…

Warrington’s Hidden Gems

After my rehearsal, I went for a wander around town. And you know what? I found a lovely independent shop full of pink tutus, dresses and hats and shoes. I felt like I'd found my little piece of ballet heaven in the middle of Warrington. The lady who owned it even told me a few stories about the town. Apparently there's a lot of history here. Who knew?! I mean, my heart’s set on ballet, but a little bit of local history always sparks my curiosity. And there was the cutest cafe just off the main square - it had the most adorable china teacups. They made a really special chai latte too. A good chai is almost as magical as a well-constructed tutu.

A Very Pink Afternoon

I spent the rest of the day exploring. Warrington's canal network is a truly gorgeous feature of the town. A really calm space and much needed after a rehearsal. There was this little squirrel scurrying through the trees, all bushy and cute, and I think I made his day when I gave him a handful of my peanut butter protein bar – though he would never say it of course. I thought he was quite cheeky to even want a bit, the little guy! I can tell that Warrington will have its place in my ballet memories, alongside some of the great ballet shows and ballet companies in Britain and on the continent. London, Bristol, Birmingham… Paris, Vienna, Berlin... I just love travelling by train, meeting new people, seeing new cities and towns. It all adds to my experience as a ballerina.

My Dream of a Pink Tutu World

One thing I realised today: I need to start a campaign to make the world a pink tutu-wearing place! Can you imagine the sheer joy, the confidence, the sheer exuberance?! All the worries, all the stresses, would be swept away as we all leapt and danced in fluffy tutus. Wouldn't that be magnificent? Don't you think a little pink fluff can turn your day around?

I might even put a call out on Twitter. And I'm gonna ask the ladies at the ballet class this evening if they are in or not! Because that’s what makes me feel good, making everyone around me feel amazing too, just by being myself, by doing what I love.

Anyway, darlings, gotta dash! I'm off to a show tonight and it’s my turn on stage so I better get ready and shine. Thanks for reading! Let me know what you think. Leave me a comment here, on my Instagram, or a message on Twitter! Until next time, be sparkly, be brave and, of course, be pink!

With love,

Emma
