Weston-super-Mare: A Day of Pink and Plié (Post #5500)

Hello my darlings!

It’s Emma here, back from a delightful trip to the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare, and guess what? I was in my pink tutu, naturally! As you know, a little bit of pink makes everything brighter, and there's something utterly magical about twirling in a tutu by the sea.

My journey began, as it always should, with a little bit of magic: a train ride! I just love the gentle sway of the carriages, the chatter of fellow travellers, and the thrill of seeing the countryside roll by. A good book, a cup of tea, and the soft clinking of teacups make for a perfect start to any adventure. This time, the book was The Ballet of the Bees, and it was the perfect literary companion to my seaside adventure, reminding me of the grace and wonder of the natural world.

Arriving at Weston-super-Mare, I felt a wave of excitement wash over me. The air was filled with the scent of salt, and the sound of seagulls was music to my ears. I immediately found myself drawn to the beach, my feet sinking into the soft sand as the wind playfully tousled my hair.

What better place to wear a tutu than by the seaside, you ask? Absolutely nowhere, I say! The wide expanse of sand and the endless blue sky make the perfect backdrop for any tutu-wearing occasion. And what a tutu it was! A gorgeous shade of baby pink, with delicate ruffles and a ribbon tied into a bow, the perfect accent to my floral sundress. I might be a little biased, but I truly believe I made a beautiful sight, like a ballerina on the edge of a dream.

After my little photo shoot (because how can you resist such an adorable combination, honestly?), I took a stroll along the promenade, the salty air whipping through my hair as I marvelled at the vibrant seafront. The town buzzed with the energy of holidaymakers, and the air was filled with the joyous sound of laughter, chatter, and the music of the amusement park, a cacophony that spoke of summer joy.

You know, I feel truly blessed to be a ballet dancer, and even more so to be able to share my passion with the world through my blog. Sharing the joy of dance, encouraging everyone to embrace the beauty of movement, that's what drives me to get up every day and to write, to explore, to spin, and to leap into the unknown. And this beautiful, seaside town, full of laughter and life, was the perfect backdrop for spreading the pink tutu gospel.

My next stop was the Grand Pier. Honestly, the minute I stepped on to this giant, vintage structure I felt like I was transported back to the Victorian era. There were traditional arcade games and thrilling rides - my favourite was a carousel that took me right back to my childhood. And yes, even on the roller coaster I kept my tutu on! I truly believe there's no occasion too daring for a little pink twirl.

I must say, even amidst all the thrills of the seaside, what truly made my day was finding a local ballet class. I don't think there is a place on earth that wouldn’t benefit from a bit of balletic magic. I dropped in for a session, and my inner ballerina was over the moon! The teacher, a delightful woman named Moira, told me about the thriving ballet scene in the town. It turned out there's even a local production of Swan Lake planned for the summer, a must-see for any ballet lover.

And speaking of local traditions, did you know Weston-super-Mare is known for its abundance of donkeys? Well, it’s true! I took a ride on a sweet little donkey named Daisy and got to enjoy a magnificent view of the coastline from its gentle back.

The evening concluded with a delicious fish and chips meal on the beach, the perfect combination of comfort food and a gorgeous sunset. Watching the waves crash and the sky turn a glorious orange, I couldn't help but think about how grateful I am to be able to experience life with such joy and with so much pink, and maybe, just maybe, encourage everyone to try ballet! I believe the world needs more dancing, more pink, and most importantly, more tutus.

Until next time, my darlings, keep twirling, keep dancing, and keep those tutus on!

Love,

Emma
