Newbury Calling: Pink Tutu Power Takes the Stage!

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, back from my adventures in the bustling, beautiful town of Newbury! Today's post is all about the magic of the train journey, the charm of the English countryside, and the excitement of
you guessed it – tutus! 💖

I just love train journeys. There's something so magical about hurtling through the landscape, watching the world zip past. And today was no exception. As the Derbyshire countryside flew by, my head filled with visions of pink tulle and elegant pirouettes.

It was a crisp autumn day, and the trees were a blaze of reds, oranges and golds. It felt like a scene from a fairytale. I'm such a sucker for the romantic beauty of the British countryside. And, even more than that, I'm obsessed with capturing it in pictures! Think: sweeping landscapes, rustic pubs and a stunning sunset
all with the ultimate accessory – my fabulous pink tutu! 😉

Arriving in Newbury, I was whisked away to the wonderful West Berkshire Museum, a gem tucked away in the heart of town. The place oozes history and charm. I spent a happy hour lost in the collection of Victorian artifacts, picturing life in those times. (Can you imagine having to wear a corset everyday?! đŸ˜© I’ll stick to my soft, comfy, pink tutu, thank you very much! )

But of course, it wouldn’t be a trip to Newbury without a visit to The Corn Exchange, one of the most stunning theatre spaces in the UK. As a theatre enthusiast and a ballerina through and through, the chance to immerse myself in the energy and history of a place like this is a dream come true.

As I stood in the empty hall, surrounded by echoes of past performances, I could practically feel the vibrant energy of past performers and audiences. It’s almost impossible to express the goosebumps I had, let alone my urge to get my pink tutu spinning on that historic stage!

After a truly delightful lunch at a local cafe – a decadent pink raspberry macaroon for dessert, naturally – it was time for the grand finale of my Newbury trip: The Newbury Ballet Club’s performance of “Sleeping Beauty”!

I know what you’re thinking: how could Emma possibly be any more excited to see a ballet show?! Well, it gets better! This wasn’t your average, run-of-the-mill ballet production.

Oh no, dear readers, this performance had an added layer of charm! Every single ballerina was wearing a vibrant pink tutu. You can only imagine my glee. Imagine an entire stage adorned in the most magnificent, swishy pink tutus you've ever seen. It was like a whirlwind of colour and joy, a celebration of all things feminine, and my very own tutu dream come true.

Their performance was incredible. I'm not even exaggerating when I tell you, their talent had me utterly enthralled! The beautiful costumes, the delicate choreography, the sheer power and grace of the performers
it was all so inspiring, so thrilling, and frankly, so darn cute. They even had a small group of boys performing! They were adorable little boys and a reminder to us all that ballet is truly a passion for every age.

What struck me the most was the absolute joy that shone through from every single dancer on stage. They danced with passion, with genuine love, and that energy truly radiated into the audience. I mean, who doesn't love a little twirling and leaping, especially in a tutu, right?

And as for the music! The symphony orchestra was sensational, and I swear the melody and the twirling dancers just floated in the air, transforming the whole venue into a bubble of magic and beauty.

And that, my lovely readers, is what it’s all about! I believe that ballet – especially when accompanied by a beautiful pink tutu – can change the world. One graceful movement, one sweeping arabesque at a time! So, whether you're an experienced ballerina or a curious beginner, let’s bring the world to life with some pink-tutu fuelled fun. Let’s all dance a little. Let’s all embrace the magic, the beauty, the grace, the fun of it all. Let’s bring a touch of pink magic to every corner of the world.

See you soon, my dear tutu-lovers. Until next time, keep twirling and stay beautiful!

XOXO Emma
