Leith: Where My Tutu Took Me Today! πŸ’–πŸ©°

Hey loves! Emma here, back from a whirlwinding trip to Edinburgh and its super-cute, harbour-side neighbourhood, Leith! πŸ’– You guys know I can't resist a good adventure, and this little getaway has been just that. This post is No. 5817 on my blog, www.pink-tutu.com – yes, I write daily! Can you believe it?! πŸ˜…

My journey started with a glorious train ride – those Victorian carriages just have a touch of fairytale magic, don’t they? I felt like I was straight out of a Jane Austen novel, with the rolling countryside whizzing by, except, you know, I was wearing a pink tutu! 😜 It was my new polka-dot one, by the way. I adore how it flounces with every step.

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is on right now – how utterly divine! I feel like I’ve been living in a world of theatrical magic since I got here. From vibrant street performances to the incredible, must-see, stage productions – I've barely had time to catch my breath, let alone have a proper sit down! The sheer amount of talent everywhere makes my ballerina heart swell with joy. 🩰✨

But let's get back to Leith. Oh, this place is charming! I'm obsessed with its quaint, cobbled streets and the quirky, independent shops brimming with vintage treasures and artisan goodies. It has that unique, maritime vibe – a mixture of history, bohemian spirit, and, of course, a touch of Scottish charm. It makes me wish I had a cottage by the sea. (And maybe a little pony to take me around. 🐴🀫)

I stumbled upon the most incredible wildlife park on my walk! Okay, it's technically the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, but honestly, it felt like an enchanting secret garden. Lush foliage, the sweet scent of wildflowers, and beautiful little critters flitting about. I had a total Princess Mononoke moment, except instead of wearing forest clothes, I was rocking my pink tutu, of course. πŸ˜‰

My favourite part? Watching the playful seals at the Water of Leith, just a short walk away! They were basking in the sun and barking like mischievous pups. Their plump little bodies and inquisitive eyes totally melted my heart! I'm just saying, these are the kinds of moments that remind me how truly blessed we are to have such beauty around us. 🌎

I even snagged a little souvenir at the Royal Yacht Britannia! A dainty, nautical charm for my ballet shoes. Can't wait to add it to my collection! It's got that iconic blue and gold – it reminds me of the graceful elegance of those sailors in their white uniforms. Such dapper gentlemen! And speaking of dapper gentlemen...

I popped into the Leith Theatre - how fantastic! They’re currently running the hit musical, β€œCabaret”, and the atmosphere inside was electric! It really transported me back in time, to that jazz-filled, smoky glamour of Berlin in the 1930s. πŸŽ™οΈπŸ₯‚

And, what is a trip to Scotland without some traditional whisky? πŸ₯ƒ Well, you bet I had a taste or two, although I stuck to the berry flavour because… pink, duh! πŸ’• But, really, it wasn't just about the whisky - the pub where I sampled it, called Salt Horse, was simply lovely! A quintessential pub with warm, rustic interiors and an atmosphere brimming with good cheer.

Let me tell you, this whole trip has just confirmed my love for all things creative, all things adventurous, and all things sparkly! It's these experiences, these fleeting moments of wonder that truly light up my soul and fill me with a deep sense of joy. πŸ’–

Now, for my fellow tutu lovers, this is what you NEED to do! Let's take over Edinburgh! Embrace your inner ballerina. Rock your own pink tutu, maybe try some ballet class while you’re at it. (If you can’t do proper ballet, ballet barre classes are super fun, and still great for your body). I promise, you'll feel like you're on top of the world! And if you are in Edinburgh, make sure to visit the Edinburgh Fringe festival. You won’t regret it. πŸ˜‰

Until next time, stay twirling! πŸ’–

Emma xx
