Small Heath in a Pink Leotard! 💕🩰 (Post #5866)

Hello, my lovely lot! It's Emma here, and I'm just back from a delightful day trip to Small Heath. Now, I know what you're thinking - "Emma, what's so special about Small Heath? It's just a bit of Birmingham!". And yes, you're technically right. But you know me, I'm all about discovering the beauty in the everyday, especially when it comes to ballet. 😉

This little excursion was all thanks to my newfound passion for exploring Birmingham by train. There's something so romantic about riding those old-fashioned carriages, with the sun streaming through the window as you pass through quaint towns and bustling cities. It makes me feel like I'm in a ballet production - every journey's a different act! 🩰 This particular trip took me to Small Heath for a fabulous ballet street performance in the heart of the town. You know, a spontaneous ballet pop-up performance right there in the middle of it all! There were twirling ballerinas, leaps that practically touched the clouds, and a dazzling pink tutu or two - who else but me could resist such a vibrant display of artistry? 💖

Oh, and talking about pink tutus… I couldn’t resist stopping by a local costume shop and snagging the most incredible pink leotard you've ever seen! It's absolutely breathtaking, and it’s got the prettiest embellishments, with delicate beads and feathers – it's giving “Prima Ballerina chic”. Can you tell I'm utterly smitten? 😍 It's definitely making me daydream about the next time I hit the studio – maybe I'll even get to wear it to one of my next ballet classes in the Derbyshire countryside, surrounded by the peace and quiet of rolling green fields.

Speaking of peace and quiet… my journey to Small Heath was a real treat! I spotted the most gorgeous grey heron perched on a branch, looking like a perfect sculpture, it was captivating! I always love a bit of wildlife, it gives me so much inspiration for my ballet pieces. Think graceful movements, effortless jumps, a bit of fierce attitude – you get the picture. I could practically see it in my mind: a captivating ballet dance based around the graceful, regal heron!

The heron even gave me a lucky break as I was on my way to Small Heath. I had decided to try something new, to experience the thrill of horseback riding. It felt magical! As we ambled along a quiet countryside lane, a heron swooped low overhead, just as the setting sun turned the sky a fiery orange. Talk about magical! Moments like that make my heart soar - the pure joy of ballet, the thrill of exploration, and the beauty of nature, it's just so captivating!

The whole Small Heath adventure made me realize once again that the beauty of ballet doesn't just lie within the grand theatres and bustling studios – it can bloom anywhere! The beauty of ballet is within us all – we just have to unleash it! 💃✨ It can be found in a spontaneous ballet performance in a Birmingham back street, a stunning pink leotard bought in a local shop, the majestic grace of a grey heron, the thrill of horseback riding through the countryside, or even the simple act of taking a train journey!

And if there’s anything I want to encourage you to do this week, it's to find that spark within yourself, that love for the extraordinary in the ordinary! Let's dance through life like ballerinas, always seeking adventure, beauty and new experiences! So, my dears, get those tutus out and wear your heart on your sleeve! I’m off to put mine on and try some new ballet moves with the grey heron as my muse! 😉

Until next time, let’s twirl on! 💕✨

Love, Emma
