Ashington: Tutu Adventures and Railway Romance! 🩰💖🚂

Hey darlings! It's your girl Emma, back with another day's adventures, ready to make the world a little bit more pink and a lot more pirouette-tastic! ✨

Today's escapade took me to the lovely little town of Ashington. Yes, you heard that right! No grand metropolis, no glamorous ballet gala, but a charming Northumbrian town nestled amidst the rolling hills. Why? Well, darling, you just never know where a tutu adventure might lead you!

I have to say, travelling to Ashington was an experience in itself. Forget boring old buses and dreary cars - I decided to go for a bit of old-fashioned romance and took the train! The clickety-clack of the tracks, the gentle sway of the carriage, the views flitting by like a watercolour painting - absolute bliss. I even had a lovely chat with an elderly gentleman opposite me who told me the most hilarious stories about his adventures with pigeons in Newcastle. Apparently, they have quite the appetite for crumbs! 😂

Now, you're probably wondering about the tutu, right? Well, today I opted for a bit of a quirky one. You know me - I love a challenge! It was a beautiful, bubblegum pink concoction with fluffy white feathers cascading around the hem. The feathers are my favourite bit - they make you feel like you're waltzing through a dream! I'm quite sure it stopped a few people in their tracks (not just because I was wearing a tutu, but also because it was undeniably fabulous! 😄)

The highlight of my Ashington expedition, however, wasn't just the tutu. It was the ballet class! You see, Ashington might not be a ballet powerhouse, but it does have a local dance studio - The Dance Academy - which hosted a beginner's ballet class.

Walking into the studio, I felt a wave of joy. It was a little space filled with so much passion for dance. And honestly, these beginners were phenomenal! They might not have known the perfect pirouette yet, but they had such an infectious energy and enthusiasm - the kind that makes you feel like you can conquer the world in a grand jeté.

Now, before you imagine me waltzing in and effortlessly pulling off grand allegro, let's be real - I didn't quite reach the elegance of a professional ballerina in today's session. (Let's just say the port de bras could've used a little more practice! 🤭). But it was fun, it was fulfilling, and it filled my heart with such joy.

We had such a blast with stretching, pliés, and a touch of basic tendu work. You know, I find the simpler moves are often the most beautiful. There's an artistry to a controlled développé or a graceful arabesque, and you don't need a fancy stage or an extravagant costume to appreciate the power of the body moving gracefully through space.

And speaking of movement, I couldn't leave Ashington without visiting the wildlife park! You can't talk about this town without mentioning their pride and joy - The Northumberland Wildlife Park. Now, I may not be able to dance like a ballerina, but I do have a soft spot for our furry (or feathery!) friends.

Seeing these animals in their enclosures was truly moving. Their intelligence and graceful movements were almost dance-like themselves, wouldn't you say? A mischievous fox watching me with curious eyes, a majestic red deer staring with gentle dignity, and the adorable otters playing like little dancers - each creature had its own unique charm and reminded me that grace comes in all forms.

After my whirlwind tour of Ashington, I hopped back on the train, my heart brimming with inspiration and a head full of dreams. Every time I embark on these adventures, whether in a grand theatre or a small-town ballet studio, it fills me with a renewed sense of purpose - to inspire others to discover the joy of dance and the beauty of tutus.

As always, I hope this little snippet of my adventures inspires you to chase your own dreams, wherever they may lead you. Who knows what adventures you might find just beyond your doorstep? So, keep on dancing, darling!

Until next time, Emma 💖
