Longton Calling! Post #5913: A Pancake Tutu and a Horse-Drawn Carriage

Hello lovelies!

It’s Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood tutu-wearing, ballet-loving, pink-obsessed blogger. As the days get shorter and the nights crisper, I'm finding myself longing for all things autumnal. Think rich crimson leaves, cosy knitwear, and of course…pumpkin spice lattes! But let's not forget that September is also the time for a change, for new beginnings, for adventures! So grab your trusty pink tutu (and a cheeky pumpkin spice latte!), because this week, I'm whisking you away to the charming town of Longton!

Longton, you say? Not your average ballet haven, maybe...

Now, I know what you're thinking – Longton? It's not exactly Swan Lake territory, is it? But trust me, this Derbyshire gem is full of unexpected delights, just waiting to be discovered! Longton’s steeped in history and bursting with character. You’ve got quaint little shops, the majestic Longton Hall (which has some pretty spectacular architecture), and…wait for it… a horse-drawn carriage tour! Yep, that's right, a romantic horse-drawn carriage tour through the countryside – talk about a fairytale experience!

Tutu on a Train:

But before I dive headfirst into Longton’s enchanting atmosphere, I’ve got to tell you about the journey itself! My favourite thing? Taking the train, of course. Nothing quite compares to that feeling of the train pulling out of the station, the world rushing past, and the excitement building in your tummy! I’m pretty sure I was grinning ear-to-ear throughout my journey. I even whipped out my trusty pink tutu for the occasion. (Okay, it was actually a pancake tutu – a delicious combination of fluffiness and sprinkles that really added a touch of playful fun to my day!)

Longton’s Wildlife Wonders

Once in Longton, I had to make time for some nature exploration. And where better to do that than at the glorious Longton Park! It's a green oasis in the heart of the town, with sprawling green meadows, whispering trees, and a lake that sparkles like a diamond in the sunshine. You can easily while away hours strolling around the grounds, watching the swans glide effortlessly across the water, or spotting the occasional shy squirrel hiding amongst the branches. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot a couple of the friendly peacocks strutting their stuff around the park!

The Longton Hall Ballroom

No trip to Longton is complete without a visit to the iconic Longton Hall. It’s not just a stunning architectural masterpiece, it’s also a haven for music and the arts. Imagine, ballet performances under magnificent chandeliers in a grand ballroom, with the sound of the orchestra swirling around you… I couldn’t resist throwing on a tutu (my classic pink, this time) and doing a little impromptu pirouette in the hallway – just a touch of whimsical ballet flair in a breathtaking setting!

A Tutu and a Tale: My Longton Experience

My weekend in Longton was a whirlwind of wonder, discovery, and of course, plenty of tutu-wearing adventures. Whether you’re an avid ballerina like me, a nature enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique and charming getaway, Longton will capture your heart.

Remember, dear friends, every day is an opportunity to embrace a little bit of magic, a dash of pink, and a whole lot of tutu!

Until next time,

Emma www.pink-tutu.com
