Droitwich - Pink Tutu Paradise! (Post #5931) 🩰

Hello darlings! Emma here, and it’s Friday! How has your week been? Mine has been filled with sparkles, pink, and a very special tutu… Oh, and a train journey, of course! I wouldn’t have it any other way. 💖

Today I’m heading to Droitwich, a charming little town in Worcestershire, known for its salt springs and its history – it even has its own brine baths! I can’t resist a bit of a spa day now and again, especially when it's tucked away in such a pretty setting. And this little trip was extra special, as it coincided with a very important reason to travel: ballet!

As some of you know, I love my tutus and ballet like nothing else. There's something utterly captivating about the elegance of ballet and the sheer joy of dancing. But even more so, I love to see how this art form can be interpreted in different ways, especially in unexpected locations. And today, I found just that!

As the train rattled through the picturesque English countryside, I imagined what awaited me in Droitwich: charming boutiques, a vibrant town square, and hopefully a cup of tea and a slice of cake (the very important fuel for my tutu-wearing adventures!). Little did I know, I was about to be surprised with an unexpected and fantastic encounter.

The air crackled with excitement as I arrived. After grabbing a quick cuppa, I set off on my explorations, my mind buzzing with potential locations for a few perfect #PinkTutuPics! My inner ballerina was starting to tingle with anticipation – a ballet class, a performance, a dream would unfold... Or so I thought.

This wasn’t just a normal ballet performance. Oh no, this was a whole new experience. It turned out to be an American-style, country-themed, boot scootin' performance with tutus! Now, you might be thinking: “Emma, you love ballet, but… tutus and boots?!” But honestly, you haven’t seen the sheer awesomeness of this!

Just imagine: the gorgeous grace of classical ballet… mixed with the high energy and joy of American dance… with tutus! There were cowboys, and cowgirls… all with those fluffy, voluminous tulle creations flowing and twirling as they danced! It was truly a beautiful and whimsical experience that just filled my heart with joy.

I’m sure some of you might be saying "American? In Droitwich? With boots?!". It's something completely new to the UK and it was exhilarating! We had line dances with those iconic American outfits... everyone, from little ones to seasoned dancers, joined in! My inner ballerina danced right alongside them – no pink tutu required, though, just a healthy dose of exhilaration.

So, that was my exciting Droitwich adventure – ballet, tutus, cowboys and cowgirls! The performance was phenomenal, but that's not all... My highlight? Meeting some incredible people – fellow tutu lovers and ballet enthusiasts, both dancers and spectators! We laughed, we danced, we chatted about our shared passion for all things twirling and graceful! And even, though we had no ballet class, I still managed to get my fair share of practice in. My #PinkTutu dreams, after all, wouldn't be fulfilled without some good old-fashioned twirling and poses!

One of the best parts of this journey? I got to discover an entirely new way to experience ballet. Who knew that the world of American country dancing and classical ballet could collide with such style and elegance?

Now, I might not have found the perfect spa day location for this trip, but I did find an incredible experience and inspiration! Maybe it's time to start a new dance challenge for all of you! Who says ballet has to be classical or formal? What kind of unconventional dance forms would you like to explore?

This is just one more reason why I love to explore and try new things, you never know what exciting treasures are waiting to be found! As I hopped back on the train for Derbyshire, with a newfound appreciation for the boundless nature of dance, I was already planning my next adventure. I'll let you all in on the secret soon!

Until next time darlings, keep twirling and stay fabulous! 💕

Love,

Emma
