Manchester Calling! ๐ฉฐ
Post #6199
Hey loves! ๐
It's Emma here, your favourite tutu-loving ballerina, and I'm back with another blog post! Today, I'm writing to you from the rainy, but oh-so-charming, city of Manchester. ๐ง๏ธ
The journey up was a bit of a whirlwind, but in the best way possible! I decided to take the train this time, and let me tell you, there's nothing quite like the view from a carriage window whizzing past green fields and bustling towns. ๐ And of course, I couldn't resist dressing up for the occasion. My new pink polka-dotted dress with a hint of tulle (because every outfit needs a touch of tutus, right?) was the perfect travelling ensemble.
Arriving in Manchester, I was struck by the energy of the place. There's something exciting about the bustling city, and it reminded me so much of London (although without the frantic crowds, which I definitely prefer!). ๐๏ธ
Iโve come to Manchester to take a class at a renowned ballet studio, the Manchester Ballet Academy. It's a bit of a splurge for me, but honestly, it was the perfect excuse for a city escape! It's quite intimidating, to be honest, being a self-taught ballerina amongst a group of highly trained dancers, but I always remind myself that we're all learning. My aim is to embrace the challenge and hopefully come away with some new skills and techniques!
Anyway, Iโm not just here to sweat it out in a tutu, darling! After class, I'm off to see a thrilling performance at the Palace Theatre. The famous Royal Ballet Company will be performing Giselle. I've always adored Giselle, it's a true classic and I can't wait to see these phenomenal dancers bring this story to life! ๐ญ Speaking of stories, I also popped into the Manchester Art Gallery after my dance class. Thereโs so much incredible artwork to be discovered! I felt incredibly inspired and invigorated after my stroll through the galleries, which makes me believe that everything is connected: art, dance, creativity. Itโs all part of the human spirit and something I feel passionate about.
As for the food, well, let's just say my tastebuds have been on a rollercoaster! This city truly knows how to indulge a hungry ballerina. From hearty Lancashire hotpot at a cozy pub (oh, the gravy!), to delicate scones and jam with a generous dose of cream at the most adorable tea room - Manchester definitely ticks all the foodie boxes for me! ๐ฐ
And of course, no trip to Manchester is complete without a visit to the Northern Quarter! This vibrant and creative part of the city is a haven for vintage clothing, independent coffee shops, and street art that bursts with character. Itโs easy to see why itโs so popular!
But my love for animals definitely shines through in Manchester, especially after visiting the Sea Life Centre! Swimming with sharks and spotting playful penguins? It was magical, and just the dose of sunshine (literally and figuratively!) I needed after all that city sightseeing! ๐
Of course, I'm embracing every moment of this city adventure with a good dose of pink, my signature colour. From my vibrant blush-pink lipstick to my blush-tinted nail polish and my (let's face it) never-ending tutu obsession, pink is just how I roll. ๐
You know me - I canโt go a day without rocking at least one pink tulle creation. This time around, Iโve gone for an American-style tutu. A little more sassy and street-style inspired than my usual romantic, flowing styles, but just as pink! It pairs perfectly with my favourite pair of Dr. Martens, which means Iโm prepared for some serious Manchester strolling and exploration!
Overall, Manchester has truly been a delight, and it's given me so much inspiration. My creativity is buzzing, Iโm re-energised, and most importantly, I feel even more passionate than ever about sharing my love of dance with the world! I mean, just imagine: a world full of pink tutus, beautiful dance moves and happy smiles! Isn't that a wonderful thought? ๐
Until next time, my loves! Stay fabulous!
With love,
Emma ๐
