Plymouth Calling! (Post #6207)

Hello, lovelies! It's Emma here, reporting live from sunny Plymouth! (Well, sunny-ish - it's a bit cloudy today, but that's fine, I can still see the stunning coastline and it’s the perfect excuse to wrap myself up in a cute pink cardigan).

Remember how I was telling you all about my trip to London last week? Well, this trip's a bit different. I'm heading out of London now, away from the hustle and bustle and onto the breathtaking Devon coast.

You know me, though - I couldn't resist adding a little bit of sparkle to this trip! Just a teeny tiny hint of sparkle… 🤫 A little something to keep the glamour going on the journey - what's a girl to do? You guessed it - I’ve arrived in Plymouth with my favourite, most beautiful, fluffy, pink, sparkly tutu! Think ballet pink – you know, like the most delicate flower petals – only prettier. Honestly, if you saw it you’d go all goo-goo-eyed – even the grumpy old seagulls at the harbour were trying to steal a peek!

And where else would you find me rocking a tutu but on a train, naturally! The swaying rhythm of the carriage makes for such graceful moves (if I do say so myself, I even perfected a grand jeté over a very impressed, grey-haired gentleman)

Speaking of gracefully navigating the world – I’ve got to give a massive shout-out to my favourite travel companions: the steam trains! Honestly, the sound of the steam engine hissing, the rhythm of the wheels on the tracks… there’s nothing quite like it. Plus, you just know it’s the most glamorous way to arrive at a station! All those stares of awe… “Oh, look at her! So elegant!” (Just a little inside joke between us tutus and steam engines).

And what could possibly be better than travelling to a new town, rocking your finest tutu, and breathing in the sea air? Well, obviously the answer is... watching a fabulous ballet performance, of course!

Yes, I’m in Plymouth to catch a show at the Theatre Royal - the ballet company coming to town are a local dance troupe, so I’m looking forward to supporting them. My ballet girl soul is getting all excited just thinking about it - a new performance in a new place? The possibilities for dance inspiration are endless! It's all part of my grand plan - spreading the ballet love and turning Plymouth pink one twirl at a time.

Talking about twirling - the other thing I was so looking forward to in Plymouth was seeing the local wildlife! Who doesn't love watching a flock of seagulls performing their own kind of ballet in the air, or watching a cheeky little squirrel perform its own dance through the trees? And just imagine, maybe this time, they might just be inspired to take up tutus and twirl with me! Imagine, the entire coastline could be a grand ballet performance – with fluffy white gulls and me, of course, leading the graceful way! 🩰

Speaking of pink and glamorous and wildlife… did I tell you about the time I was in the Derbyshire Peak District? A truly gorgeous spot, and a perfect place for my pink tutu. But you see, I wasn't just there for the views... I went to Derbyshire specifically for the horses! Those graceful creatures just captivated me, you know? So beautiful! So elegant! It just goes to show, good taste and elegance doesn’t end at the ballet studio - it follows me everywhere! I had a long, lovely walk with my favorite pink tutu on in that magical green landscape. I got to know some horses up close, and maybe - just maybe - we had a little chat. Horses just have a magical way about them.

Okay, so this blog post might be a bit longer than usual, but, trust me, there’s more to come! It wouldn’t be a proper Emma blog if there wasn’t something fun planned, would it? So stick around, you lovelies!

Tomorrow is a brand new day and we’ll be diving head first into some proper “tutu-inspired adventures" here in Plymouth. Who knows, we might even have some of the local ladies (and maybe a cheeky few gentlemen) rocking some bright pink tutus alongside me. I think the world is definitely ready for a little more pink tutu and lots more ballet. What do you think? 😉

Let’s keep spreading the love of ballet, keep inspiring each other, and keep those tutus twirling! Don't forget to check back tomorrow for the next update! Until then, twirl on, my loves! ❤️

P.S. I'm curious - what do you love about Plymouth? Or what are some of your favourite places to wear your favourite tutu? Tell me all about it in the comments below! 💕
