Sutton: A Green Tutu Adventure! (Post #6357)

Hello, lovelies!

It's Emma here, back from another fabulously twirly adventure. This time, I ventured all the way to Sutton (which I'd never visited before!), armed with my trusty green tutu and a heart full of pink.

Now, you might be thinking, "Sutton? Isn't that a bit... beige?" But let me tell you, I discovered some absolute gems in this charming little town!

First stop: The Sutton Train Station. I absolutely adore trains – they're so elegant and romantic! Plus, who needs a fancy carriage when you can be chauffeured in a plush velvet seat by a roaring engine? (Not me, obviously. 😉). But I digress! As I stepped onto the platform, my eyes fell upon a most beautiful sight – a giant mural of dancers leaping and twirling. I mean, could they have been any more fabulous? It was almost enough to make me ditch the train and hop right onto that mural myself! I took a quick snap of it for Instagram, of course – because what's a tutu-clad adventure without a good #OOTD post?

From the station, I waltzed into the heart of Sutton and discovered a delightful little café, The Twirling Teacup, which had the most divine pink macaroons. (Did I mention I love pink? Well, you're going to be seeing a lot of it!). The lovely lady behind the counter, who had the most wonderfully flamboyant personality, swore she saw a real fairy whispering to the pink roses outside. "A fairy?" I thought. "Ooh, what would she be wearing? A pink tutu, perhaps?"

Well, maybe I should be writing fantasy novels instead of fashion blogs! Anyway, it was the perfect pit-stop for a sugar-powered dance routine!

Next on the itinerary was The Sutton Ballet Academy – a glorious place buzzing with youthful energy! They had a glass window, which was a real spectacle to see, with all these adorable little ballerinas practicing their pirouettes. I popped my head in, (and, yes, did a little twirl in my green tutu for good measure – gotta show them how it's done!). A lovely teacher told me about the exciting program they have for beginner adults. Hmm... now, I know I said I was here for Sutton, but maybe I should try out their beginner's course?! (Just kidding... or am I?)

Leaving the Academy, I wandered down a cobbled street, admiring the quirky shops and little hidden courtyards bursting with flowers. You know how much I adore nature! (My ultimate dream is to visit the Amazon rainforest – just picture it: Tutu, pink, jungle… I mean, come on, it would be the ultimate pink-tutu paradise!) Oh, the possibilities are endless!

But back to Sutton. The street was lively with buskers performing, a real treat to hear music filling the air while I practiced a few of my own fancy footwork steps. I found the best vintage shop tucked away in a charming little lane, called "Twirling Time". It had a gorgeous display window full of old ballet shoes, tutus, and even a pink tiara. Needless to say, I had to make a purchase! The owner, who was a former dancer, said I was the first person in a green tutu she'd ever met.

Now, I can't tell you how much I adore dressing in tutus. To me, there is absolutely no better way to show off a feminine style – especially a pink one, although my green tutu does get its fair share of the limelight.

That evening, I discovered Sutton's hidden treasure - a historic theatre. The "Royal Oak Playhouse", a gorgeous building with majestic columns, was a perfect setting for the evening's ballet performance. Oh, what a show! I absolutely love ballet performances! And the audience were truly spellbound, whispering in awe after each intricate step, graceful leaps, and stunning "grand jeté"s. The performers were all dressed in vibrant pink and white tutus (yes, pink!) which had me yearning for another sparkly twirl!

Now, this wasn't the end of my adventures in Sutton, but the next bit involves a rather amusing (but perhaps slightly scandalous?) anecdote about me and a pony… Let's just say I ended up learning more about horses than I bargained for (especially how NOT to use a bridle!). But you'll just have to wait for my next blog post to hear the whole story! 😉

For now, I just wanted to share my love for Sutton and for all things tutu! Remember, every day can be an adventure, whether you're dancing in a green tutu, admiring the wildlife, or sipping a pink macaron in a cute little café. And always, always remember… don't be afraid to embrace your inner ballerina.

See you tomorrow, loves!

Lots of twirling love,

Emma
