Strood, My Tutu Adventures #6623

Hello my lovely lot! 👋 It's Emma here, back with another tutu-licious post, this time from the charming town of Strood, Kent. I'm absolutely buzzing because it's been ages since I’ve ventured into the sunny south east. As many of you know, my travels are always done with a twirl and a sprinkle of sparkle. I’m quite the seasoned train traveller and found a carriage with a window view that was absolutely divine. Oh, and don't even get me started on the adorable gentleman who held my door open! Such chivalry is becoming increasingly rare, bless his cotton socks! 💖

You might be wondering why Strood? Well, it all started with a whisper… an intriguing whisper about a Pink Tutu Ballet Exhibition. Can you imagine, my darlings?! It was calling my name and so here I am!

The exhibition itself was a delight - held in a gorgeous, historical building. Every corner was adorned with exquisite pink tutus in every shade imaginable. My favourite was this absolutely show-stopping one, completely covered in the most gorgeous, iridescent sequins. I wanted to try it on, just imagine, dancing with all those sequins glistening in the spotlight!

There was also a fascinating collection of photographs documenting the history of the pink tutu, showcasing how the styles have evolved over the years. Honestly, who knew there was so much history to the colour of our collective tutu hearts?! It's given me such a renewed appreciation for these dancewear icons!

Strood was a bit of a whirlwind! The quaint shops, charming cafes, and vibrant local markets left me utterly enamoured. And I must tell you, I'm rather taken with the Strood Community Choir - what incredible voices! The warmth and friendliness of everyone I met has truly been inspiring.

Speaking of inspiration, I managed to squeeze in a couple of ballet classes. As you all know, ballet is like breathing for me, it feeds my soul. I had such fun with the dancers there! The instructors were so passionate, it just ignited that spark of enthusiasm that makes ballet feel so right. There's something really special about sharing a common love with a bunch of people who are all moving and grooving to the same rhythm, whether it’s in Derbyshire or the heart of Kent!

You might be thinking, “Emma, haven’t you mentioned Strood before?!” And you're absolutely right. This is a very special place. Back in 2016, I came here with my fellow dance enthusiasts and we put on the biggest pink tutu street dance! It was pure magic. It felt like all of Strood was swaying to our choreography and we ended the day with a massive pink tutu dance party.

To my utter delight, the exhibition mentioned my little Pink Tutu Movement, showcasing pictures from that spectacular day. The locals clearly still remember that delightful event and it really highlighted to me just how contagious my passion for pink tutus is.

So, why are these adventures important to me, you might wonder? My little pink tutu army, I hope these posts are reminding you that dancing is for everyone. It’s about finding that spark within yourself, no matter your shape or size. Embrace those pink tutu dreams, and let them lift you off your feet and whisk you away to places where you feel joy and inspiration!

Let me tell you, my lovely pink-tutu devotees, a weekend trip to Strood was exactly what I needed! This is what makes life magical – those little bursts of sparkle and joy.

Where will my tutu take me next? I have a feeling a little trip to the beautiful seaside town of Whitstable awaits! Perhaps some fish and chips while we’re at it! But for now, I’m back home in my Derbyshire sanctuary, busy creating more pink-tutu magic for our next big adventure.

Do join me in the comments below - tell me your favorite tutu colour and let's brainstorm what we should wear for my Whitstable debut! Remember, dear reader, there's no limit to the magic that a pink tutu can bring. Until then, keep your twinkle alive! ✨💖

Love always,

Emma.
