TutuBlog #6659: Trowbridge Tales and Tutu Travels

Hello my darling tutu-lovers! It's your favourite pink-obsessed ballerina, Emma, here, ready to whisk you away on another magical journey, this time with a little added weight… well, more of a heavy-duty tutu weight, that is!

Today, my loves, I find myself in Trowbridge, a charming little town in Wiltshire. As always, I chose the train journey, chugging through the rolling English countryside like a little ballet princess on an adventure. It's so much more charming than flying – you can truly appreciate the landscape, and imagine all the enchanting stories unfolding on the journey. Plus, I get to admire all the quirky characters who board the train with me!

Trowbridge is, of course, not all about the tutu (though it could be!) but rather, a wonderful blend of history, heritage and… well, honestly, I mostly just admired the quaint little cafes and shops. I adore the charm of these smaller English towns – there's such a genuine spirit of community and you can really feel the centuries whispering their tales in every cobbled street and charming alleyway.

This trip is actually for a delightful little ballet class I found at the local theatre. Now, I know you might be wondering: "Emma, what’s so special about a ballet class in Trowbridge?"

Well, darling, it's not just any class! It's run by a lovely lady named Miss Eleanor, who trained in the heart of London and brings a unique elegance to her teaching. The studio itself is an absolute dream – with mirrored walls that reflect the light from a magnificent stained glass window! It was absolutely stunning, and of course, made for the most amazing tutu twirls and arabesques.

You wouldn't believe how invigorating it was, stepping into the studio with the sunshine streaming through the window. I just felt such an uplift – not only from the class itself, but also from the sheer magic of the setting. Miss Eleanor really made me feel like I was in the heart of a ballet company in London, even though I was in this charming little town!

Oh, but the real treat was yet to come! Miss Eleanor’s ballet class is only the prelude to a performance later this evening - a wonderful show with the theme "Fairies and Folklore"! And my loves, you won’t believe what I decided to do! I decided to wear my newest tutu for the performance. A grand, full-skirted creation in the most delicious shade of baby pink. It practically whispered “ballerina” to the world, with delicate rosebuds twined throughout the tulle. I'd even adorned it with a hand-stitched garland of little silver butterflies. The ultimate fairy tutu for the ultimate fairy evening.

And let me tell you, the performance itself was absolutely spellbinding! They weaved together stories from English folklore with the grace and artistry of classical ballet – it was a true delight for the senses. The other dancers were wonderful, each bringing their own magic to the stage. I even found myself swaying and swirling in my pink tutu – my love of ballet just can’t be contained!

It really felt like a dream come true!

After the show, I wandered the enchanting streets of Trowbridge under the twinkling stars. They were still buzzing from the performance, filled with the whispers of music and magic. There was a wonderful energy in the air, and I felt it deep inside my soul.

My lovely lovelies, you may be wondering, what did I find in Trowbridge, other than the loveliest ballet class and an inspiring performance? Well, besides all the incredible memories, I also found this incredible antique shop. Hidden away in a quaint little alley, it was bursting with treasure, from vintage china to beautiful pieces of lace – all of them just begging to be dusted off and cherished.

It felt like walking into a time capsule – and I found a truly incredible pink-hued vintage tapestry depicting a fairy riding a butterfly, the perfect little touch for my bedroom back in Derbyshire.

Of course, no adventure in England is complete without a trip to the local park, and Trowbridge didn't disappoint! It had this wonderful open space, bursting with lush greenery. A real haven of serenity in the middle of the town. I decided to indulge in a little picnicking, nestled amongst the trees.

There was something very special about sitting on the grass under the warm September sun, listening to the gentle breeze rustling the leaves. As I finished my afternoon tea and a delightful homemade cake, I found myself staring out at the little red squirrels scurrying up the tree trunks. Those cute little bundles of energy brought a smile to my face. They made me think of a very dear friend of mine from Derbyshire who just adores wildlife.

And oh, the perfect ending to this charming day in Trowbridge? Imagine, a little bakery tucked away on a street corner with a window overflowing with delicious cakes and pastries. What a treasure! And as always, my love of all things pink lead me to choose a pink and cream velvet cake, which was absolutely delicious!

I’m hoping to see those cute little squirrels again, perhaps even on my way to catching a train back to Derbyshire in the morning. I’ve even found the perfect horse to take me from my Derbyshire home to Trowbridge - so this enchanting tale isn't quite over. You know me – I've got more adventures and more pink tutus waiting in the wings, and I can't wait to share them all with you!

Until next time, my lovelies! Remember, you can catch all the fun, from tutus to squirrels and everything in between, every single day at www.pink-tutu.com. And don’t forget to send me a photo of your favourite pink tutu!

Sending you all my love, Emma. xoxo
