Tutu Travels: Wigston Magna and a Fluffy Tutu - Post 6660

Hello darlings! It’s Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-loving ballerina, bringing you another slice of my life on www.pink-tutu.com! Today, I’m whisking you away to a delightful little town called Wigston Magna, just outside of Leicester.

It all started with a trip to the local library. Now, I know what you’re thinking: "Libraries? Aren’t those just dusty places with shelves of books?” Well, yes and no, darling. Libraries can also be havens for a tutu-wearing ballet aficionado like myself. This one, in particular, boasted a lovely little exhibit showcasing the history of ballet in Leicestershire. It’s always fascinating to delve into the past of this graceful art form, and this exhibit was particularly enthralling, full of fascinating photos, posters, and even a few antique tutus!

But let’s talk tutus

Now, my love affair with tutus is a well-documented fact. I firmly believe that every single human should have at least one pink tutu in their wardrobe. And this visit, I decided, called for a very special tutu. It was fluffy, darling, like a giant cotton candy explosion, in the most gorgeous shade of pastel pink imaginable. I can't say no to a touch of sparkle and whimsy! It matched my pink handbag perfectly, of course.

After a good dose of cultural immersion in the library, I decided to explore the town itself. Wigston Magna was such a charming place! There were quaint tea shops with adorable floral displays, quaint little boutiques that were practically begging to be explored, and charming old buildings that looked like they’d been plucked straight from a fairytale.

Whimsical adventures

But here’s the best bit, darlings: The highlight of the day was a chance encounter with a small group of young ballerinas practicing in the local park. Now, my heart always does a little pirouette whenever I encounter a group of young dancers, but what truly captured my attention was their enthusiasm! They were absolutely lost in the joy of dancing. Their expressions, the sheer joy on their faces as they moved with grace and confidence, reminded me why I love ballet so much!

I couldn’t resist popping over and offering a few tips. They were so receptive and eager to learn, which was a complete joy for me! You know I'm all about sharing the love for ballet. You could say that's my life's mission. Every opportunity to share that passion is an absolute joy. I'm not a trained ballet teacher or anything (although I'm definitely tempted to start ballet classes in the area). But I have a few fun techniques up my sleeve and some of my favourite dance routines, so it was a lovely little moment. We finished the day by all performing our very best 'fluffy pink tutu' pirouettes. We were a team, darlings.

Getting into the swing

This is all thanks to my love for spontaneous travel. Don't get me wrong, I do love planned trips. It's my love for adventure that I’m trying to capture in my travel blog posts, showing the magic of impromptu travels. You never know what adventures await you when you jump on a train or hop on the back of a horse and ride into the unknown! (And it's so much fun wearing your favourite tutu while you’re doing it, darling!).

For example, on this trip, my lovely horse, Buttercup, did an amazing job in the early morning, and the trip out to Wigston Magna was absolutely beautiful. All in all, I was mesmerized by the gorgeous, rolling hills of Leicestershire and its quaint towns. And you know how much I adore countryside scenes! It was like being surrounded by the lush landscapes of a Beatrix Potter novel!

My ultimate dream: A world full of pink tutus, beautiful horses and an inspiring ballet class everywhere.

Before we wrap up, darling, I have to share one final gem of my journey. As I was browsing in a quaint little local bookstore, I stumbled upon the most charming book about the wildlife of Leicestershire! The pages were filled with pictures of the local flora and fauna - rabbits, badgers, foxes, all sorts of creatures that call this area home. I love all animals! They’re the most perfect tutu wearers! (Don't you think squirrels look wonderful in pink tutu?! I do!). Now, my mission for next time: I'm going to explore more of the countryside to see these little guys up close! And, perhaps I'll even pack my favourite tutu for a spot of wildlife photography…

Remember darlings, don’t be afraid to explore! Every journey is a chance to discover something new. And it doesn't have to be far or fancy. The next time you're looking for a little adventure, just head out the door, put on your favourite tutu, and see what magic unfolds. And don't forget to share it with the world!

And I'll be waiting right here on www.pink-tutu.com to share your adventures, darlings. Until next time!

Yours in pink tutus,

Emma xx
