Grantham Calling! Tutu Adventures and a Spot of Wildlife 🩰🌸

Hey lovelies! Emma here, signing in from the heart of Lincolnshire – Grantham to be precise. Today's post is a real blast from the past, a bit of a nostalgic throwback to June 2015, way back when I was still a fresh-faced tutu enthusiast with a dream in my heart and an orange tulle dream in my wardrobe! 😉 This is blog post number 6908 for you lovely lot, so if you've been following my pink-tutu journey since the beginning, then thank you for sticking with me. 💖

Today's story, my friends, is about more than just twirls and plies. It's about venturing into new places, embracing adventure, and a sprinkle of wildlife on the side. You know me, I just love a good story with a happy ending. 😊

Now, you all know I'm a huge fan of the great British railway network (have you seen my vintage train themed ballet slippers? 😉) So, Grantham, nestled amidst rolling Lincolnshire fields, became my destination this sunny June day. It was a real breath of fresh air, a little trip out to escape the hustle and bustle of Derby. The moment I stepped onto the platform, it felt like stepping into a classic British postcard. You could almost hear the gentle chime of village bells and smell freshly baked bread wafting from a nearby bakery. (Ok, that bit is probably me getting carried away by my own imagination, but hey, a girl can dream! 😅)

I was determined to add a touch of "Emma magic" to this quaint town. How else could I do that than by twirling my way down the high street? This time, I was in a sunshine yellow and orange number - it was so cheerful it just made everyone smile! I can’t tell you how many people I made smile and laugh as I sashayed down the pedestrian walkways. Some stopped to chat, others just gave me a wave - it was absolutely brilliant!

This little town truly captured my heart with its quiet charm. You see, it wasn’t just the delightful architecture, the quaint tea rooms, and the independent shops (the antique shop in particular! My vintage tutus dream is growing!). What really stole the show was Grantham’s hidden treasure – the stunning Belton House and its expansive grounds.

This beautiful country manor was the epitome of serene elegance and grandeur, its parkland bathed in a glorious sunbeam. It felt like I’d stepped out of a classic Jane Austen novel. Picture this: the warm air whispering through the leaves, birds chirping a cheerful melody, and me, of course, doing a pirouette beneath the sweeping willow trees – pure bliss!

And just when I thought things couldn't get any more beautiful, guess what? I found myself face to face with some furry friends. No, it wasn’t a ballet class with a new fluffy classmate (though wouldn't that be amazing?!), it was the residents of Belton House’s resident petting farm. They had adorable, cuddly rabbits hopping around, fluffy guinea pigs, and even some sassy goats – you just can't resist those goofy faces! 💖

And who could forget the glorious gardens! Belton House boasted beautiful formal gardens with vibrant flowers and manicured hedges, and meandering pathways through wildflower meadows and peaceful woodlands. Oh, and you know I had to grab some amazing pictures for Instagram - the whole place just oozed a quintessentially British beauty that you have to experience to understand.

After a day full of fresh air, charming townscapes, and a whole lot of “oohs” and “ahhs”, I boarded the train home. As I gazed out of the window at the rapidly passing scenery, I couldn’t help but feel that Grantham had woven itself into the very fabric of my tutu-loving adventures. It reminded me, yet again, that magic can be found in the unexpected places – sometimes, all you have to do is put on your best tutu, hop on a train, and let the world unfold around you.

If you’re feeling inspired to grab your tutu and set off on an adventure, be sure to check out Grantham. I’d recommend a day trip – take your best pink-tutu-loving friend, pack a picnic, and get ready to have your heart charmed! You can read all about my other tutu adventures (from Paris to New York, and even the Amazon!) over on www.pink-tutu.com - we'll be back with more adventures next week! 💖

Until then, stay fabulous and twirl on, lovelies! 💕

Love,

Emma xx
