North Shields Calling! - #TutuBlog 6909

Hey lovely lot!

It's your girl Emma, coming to you live (well, almost - I'm typing this up in the corner of the cutest little tea room in North Shields). Let me tell you, it's been a whirlwind couple of days! The Derbyshire countryside is wonderful, but there's nothing quite like a change of scenery, is there?

Now, I'm not saying this because I'm in love with the place, but North Shields is totally living up to my expectations. Think of a quintessentially British seaside town, charming, filled with laughter and a splash of seaside nostalgia - just the sort of place that whispers "time to indulge in a good ol' fashioned cream tea, love". You know, my kinda vibe!

The Tutu Adventures

I have to start with my outfit. Remember that cyan tutu I picked up last week in London? You know the one - the silk-smooth, swirling dream that practically begged to be twirled on stage? Well, I decided this was the perfect time to give it a debut, paired with my favourite fuchsia pink cardigan (gotta add a touch of Emma's signature pink, right?) and some adorable ballet flats.

Honestly, as I wandered around the quaint streets, the tutus really were attracting some stares. One little girl even stopped me for a quick twirl session, which was the highlight of my day. The look on her face as I swished the fabric around - pure joy! And let me tell you, my heart skipped a beat or two. It's all about sharing the magic of ballet, isn't it?

Ballet Beyond the Borders

After that delightful (and somewhat spontaneous) street performance, I had a real treat in store - the North Shields Ballet Festival! Now, for all you ballet fanatics like me, you know that festivals like this are practically nirvana. The air buzzed with excitement. Everyone seemed to be sporting a tutu of some kind. There was a rainbow of tulle that would make a mermaid blush!

The highlight of the festival had to be the Northern Ballet's performance of Giselle. The dancers, absolutely exquisite, brought so much passion to the stage. I could hardly contain myself, I was so moved! They effortlessly brought the classic story to life with each plié, arabesque, and pas de bourrée. I sat mesmerized, drinking in every single step and movement.

There was this one moment, the lead ballerina executing a particularly delicate pirouette, where the entire theatre held its breath. It was magical! I mean, think about it - those moments where art and storytelling collide, bringing joy, beauty, and even a touch of tears, to your heart - there's nothing quite like it, is there?

The North Shields Wildlife Haven

Of course, I couldn't leave without paying a visit to the North Shields Wildlife Haven. I'm a bit of a nature girl, as you guys know, and the thought of meeting some furry (or feathery) friends was just irresistible!

This little haven was crammed with friendly critters from all over the globe, and you know what? It brought out my inner child. The baby owls, just out of their nest, had the cutest little stares. Then there was the troop of mischievous monkeys, swinging from branch to branch - they reminded me so much of my own ballet class, what with all the stretching and leaping!

The "Pink Tutu" Vision

As the day drew to a close, and I boarded the train back to Derbyshire, I was full of thoughts. I'm all about bringing a touch of whimsy and magic into everyone's lives, and maybe just maybe, a little bit of ballet inspiration. It's such a joy to share the wonders of this art form with the world.

I'm not going to lie, it takes a certain type of bravery to stand out in a crowd, even if it's a bright, happy pink tutu, and there are always a few folks who give you the "what-on-earth-are-you-wearing" look. But I believe in it - I believe in pink, in tutus, and in making everyone understand the sheer delight of spinning, jumping, and feeling that rush of pure, unadulterated happiness that ballet can offer.

Maybe next week, I'll inspire a few more twirling sessions in a seaside town or even a wildlife haven! Because you know what? The world needs a little more sparkle and a whole lot of grace, and I just might be the one to sprinkle that little bit of pixie dust.

So until next time, keep dancing, keep dreaming, and most importantly, keep shining your light, wherever you may be.

And remember, always twirl, always twirl.

Yours in Tutu-tastic love,

Emma

xx
