Hello my darling pink-tutu peeps!
It's Emma here, and let's just say, my heart is fluttering with excitement. Post number 7009, and it's a cracker. Today, I'm whisking you away with me to the cultural hub of Gateshead, and trust me, it's as glamorous as it sounds!
Now, let's rewind for a moment. Remember the stunning turquoise tutu I wore for my last post? It was just perfect for my Derbyshire daydream, wouldn't you agree? Well, I've hung it up for now (much to the delight of my washing machine!) and swapped it out for a magnificent white tutu – the kind that whispers, "I'm here to dance and twirl with style!"
Horse and carriage anyone?
You know me, I just love my escapades – and this one was a proper royal affair. Forget your boring old train journey! Today, I opted for something truly extraordinary: a horse-drawn carriage ride. Talk about arriving in style! With the wind whipping through my hair and the sun kissing my face, I couldn't help but feel like a character from a Jane Austen novel. Except, instead of a crinoline dress, I was wearing a glorious white tutu, which is really much more fun!
Ballet Fever
I'm a girl who loves her ballet, you know that, and Gateshead didn't disappoint. Imagine, stepping into the stunning Sage Gateshead, the air thick with anticipation, a gentle murmur of excitement amongst the audience. They weren't just waiting for any ordinary show, oh no! They were eagerly awaiting a captivating performance by Northern Ballet Theatre.
Ballet on stage is an art form that sets my soul on fire. The dedication, the skill, the artistry! It's pure magic. Seeing those ballerinas in their exquisitely designed costumes, with graceful movements and perfect posture, sent shivers down my spine. Oh, the beauty! It makes me yearn to throw on my pointe shoes and take to the stage myself! (I've got my trusty pink tutus all ready, naturally!).
And for a ballet aficionado, it was pure bliss!
But it's not just about the big shows. Gateshead was also buzzing with ballet vibes! I spotted a gorgeous, antique ballet shoe store, filled with sparkling treasures, that had my inner ballerina squealing with joy. I couldn't leave empty handed! You know me, a tutu isn't complete without a little extra sparkle, right? So, I added a pair of glittering silver shoes to my ever-growing collection. Perfect for my next dance class!
Every day can be a pink-tutu dream.
Gateshead wasn't all about the dance, though! I also had the opportunity to wander through its captivating art galleries, where vibrant colours and interesting installations painted my imagination with breathtaking hues. One moment I felt like I was exploring the depths of my own soul, the next, I was transported to a whimsical fantasy world!
And, of course, no visit to a new place is complete without experiencing its culinary delights! Gateshead didn't disappoint. A mouth-watering salmon sandwich (with pink sprinkles – what else?) washed down with a glass of pink lemonade – I'm a firm believer in pink, darling! It's the colour of happiness! – made for a perfect afternoon tea break.

From the moment I arrived to the second I said goodbye, I felt so inspired by the energy and creativity pulsating in the air. It truly reminded me that life should be an ongoing journey of exploration, self-discovery, and most importantly, sharing those special moments with others. And hey, who doesn't love a little twirling along the way, right?
