Hove, My Love! (Post 7027) πŸ’–πŸ©°

Hello darlings!

It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to the gorgeous seaside town of Hove! As you all know, I’m a sucker for a seaside town and Hove is one of the prettiest I've visited. The pastel houses and the gorgeous pebble beach - just my kind of scene. This was my third trip to the area - the last was for a ballet show a couple of years back and the other when I was just a little sprout exploring the rockpools.

This time around, I wasn't just here for the seaside charm; I was here for some ballet! Brighton & Hove's Dance Academy - that was my reason to venture this way. I couldn't wait to learn from the amazing teachers here and to see some new styles of dance. Now, you know I adore the grace of classical ballet, but there's just something thrilling about picking up some funky new moves, like a little bit of contemporary or street.

The Academy itself is lovely - it’s a classic, Victorian building and even the entrance hall smells like warm wood and dreams of swirling pirouettes! It was an amazing week with classes all day and some incredible performances in the evening - the highlights for me had to be a contemporary piece based on the stories of a sea-side town and a ballet about a flock of swans – a perfect tie in to the setting, I must say! I had a gorgeous lilac tutu for those evening performances – it even had shimmering silver accents to really catch the stage lights! My perfect evening. And to think it all happened on a seaside backdrop!

Now, I didn't just live on dancing and sea- air. Brighton & Hove is famous for it's funky shops and gorgeous little cafes and I can say I tried every delicious little cake and took a peek at all the sparkly treasures, trying to pick up something truly unique for my wardrobe.

Did I mention the beach? Honestly, what’s a trip to Hove without a little beachside chill time? There's something incredibly calming about the sound of the waves and the fresh sea breeze. I spent my down time taking long walks with my gorgeous tutu tied round my waist as I soaked up the view of the turquoise waters and the impressive pier jutting out into the sea.

And what's a walk on the beach without a spot of wildlife spotting? My latest passion is discovering nature and I was absolutely smitten to see a seal family frolicking in the waves not too far from shore! They were so graceful, like tiny, playful mermaids.

Brighton & Hove, you truly are my kind of seaside town - vibrant, beautiful and overflowing with dance and seaside magic. I’m sure I’ll be back, and you can be sure to read all about it here on the blog.

So tell me, darlings, where are your favorite spots by the seaside? Have you ever been to Brighton & Hove? Do let me know all your travel and seaside stories!

Until next time, stay stylish and keep those pink tutus at the ready!

Yours, Emma
