Hastings, Darling! #TutuBlog Post 7028
Hello my darlings,
Today I'm taking you on a whistle-stop tour of Hastings! I hopped on a train this morning, left my Derbyshire cottage with a cheeky wave to the chickens, and took a ride to the seaside. Now, let's be honest, my journey had a bit of an elegant twist: I'm wearing the most divine pink feather tutu! (You know, the one I got for my birthday - can you believe it was six months ago already?).
This isn't just any ordinary feather tutu. It has an ethereal quality, the feathers swish with every step, it's the epitome of feminine grace, and lets just say...it turned heads as I ambled through the train carriages. Some old biddies were giving me the side eye, but who cares? The other passengers, young and old, were captivated. They gave me a friendly smile, a giggle or, even better, a whispered "gorgeous!" Honestly, wearing a tutu instantly transforms you into a star, even when you're just heading off to the coast for a day trip!
But what does a fashionable ballerina do in Hastings? Well, naturally, we head for the beach. I was wearing my new polka dot ballet flats, and you know what? They were the perfect footwear for tiptoeing across the pebbled beach and dipping my toes in the salty sea! The air was crisp, and the waves crashed against the shore in a rhythmic dance, reminding me of the grand finale of a ballet performance! I felt at peace, just like a swan gliding gracefully through a lake.
Speaking of swans, there was a little flock of them paddling around near the pier. Such elegance, their white feathers catching the light! And wouldn't you know it, one of them seemed to be wearing a teeny tiny, feathery pink tutu – a little bit of divine inspiration for my own wardrobe.
Next, I visited the Old Town. I loved the narrow streets, charming houses, and cute little boutiques overflowing with trinkets and seaside treasures. I found a darling little hat shop and tried on a straw hat adorned with delicate pink feathers, that practically begged to be photographed! The owner even said "Darling, you look just like a flamingo!"
Hastings, I'm in love! There's so much more to explore. Perhaps a visit to Hastings Castle next? Oh, and my day wouldn't be complete without a stop at one of the town's delightful cafes. I ordered a cup of English Breakfast tea, because we all know that's how proper ballerinas stay energized! And of course, a delicious piece of lemon meringue pie! It wouldn't be a seaside trip without some delectable indulgence. I just love how the tangy lemon flavour reminds me of "The Nutcracker".
After my delicious pie, I wandered along the pier. I can't help but love a bit of traditional seaside amusement. The seagulls circled overhead like acrobats in a playful aerial ballet. I spotted a beautiful old carousel. It seemed as though it had stepped straight out of a fairytale! I dreamt of being on it, my tutu swirling in the wind, while the merry-go-round waltzed around the colourful platform.
But all good things must come to an end, so it was time for me to catch my train back home to Derbyshire. I boarded the train feeling exhilarated. The sunset painted the sky with fiery colours – like a ballerina's graceful pirouettes. As the train sped past the green fields, my heart swelled with a sense of joy and optimism.
I really think it’s high time everyone put on their most fabulous pink tutu! Forget about fashion rules! Embrace the joy, embrace the confidence, embrace the power of the tutu. Life is meant to be a little bit extraordinary, and a pink tutu certainly helps us get there! Don’t be afraid to make a statement and wear it loud and proud! Let's bring back the joy and twirl with confidence! And if you don't own a tutu... well, let’s go tutu shopping.
That’s all from Hastings! I hope you loved my adventures. If you want to join me on my next journey, be sure to check back here at www.pink-tutu.com tomorrow for my next TutuBlog post! I’ve already got some amazing plans in mind.
Until then, keep twirling!
Lots of love, Emma
