Stevenage Sparkle: A Tutu Tale (#7288)

Hello, my darling tutu enthusiasts! It's Emma here, and oh my, do I have a tale for you. You know how I love a good adventure, and this past week was no exception! This time, I took the train – the journey's always part of the fun, isn't it? - all the way from my little corner of Derbyshire to Stevenage, a town that's absolutely buzzing with excitement these days! I hear it's all thanks to a new ballet studio that just opened up – "Tutulicious Studios" if you please, how absolutely adorable! You can bet I was determined to pay them a visit and sprinkle some pink tutu magic in their direction!

Now, let's talk about my outfit, shall we? This week I've gone for a real sunshine-and-smiles number, my favourite orange tutu! It's got all the fluff you could possibly desire, and it really stood out against the backdrop of Stevenage's charming cobbled streets. As always, I matched it with my trusty pair of ballet pumps – the blush pink ones, obviously! You know how I like to embrace a bit of colour, and there's just something so cheerful and uplifting about wearing pink. And for that touch of extra sparkle, I accessorized with my vintage pearl necklace and my favourite floral hair clip. Just picture me: a vision of springtime, floating down the street with a twirl in my step and a song in my heart!

You might be thinking, "Emma, why Stevenage?". And I totally get that. Stevenage isn't exactly renowned as the capital of ballet, but believe me, the ballet world has just gone to Stevenage, and you know I like to be where the action is! As it turned out, Tutulicious Studios wasn't the only reason for my Stevenage adventure! There was also a fantastic charity event at the town hall called “Swans, Ballet & Biscuits". They were raising money for a wildlife conservation project – how could I possibly say no to that? They even had a little stall where you could buy homemade swan cakes - adorable and delicious! I did manage to purchase a box, for those of you who just have to know… those swans were the most delectable ballet-inspired treat!

Anyway, about that new ballet studio. Let me tell you, it's simply divine! When I walked in, the sun was pouring through the windows and dancing on the polished wood floor. You could literally feel the energy in the room! All the girls there were so welcoming, and they were wearing the most beautiful, elegant tutus - the pink ones of course - so you know they already understand my kind of style. You can imagine the sheer delight when I stepped out onto the dance floor and unleashed a couple of my signature spins and leaps! It's something magical about a tutu that really lets you take flight and express yourself!

The classes were truly inspirational. From beginner classes to those for the more advanced ballerinas, everyone was learning and growing, having a wonderful time, and all wearing gorgeous tutus – even the instructor! You’d have thought it was a ballerina dream come true.

And what about the performance I saw that evening? My words simply can’t do it justice! It was the local theatre company's production of 'The Nutcracker,' and the whole place was just magical! The stage was adorned with beautifully designed backdrops, the dancers were moving with such grace and precision, and of course, there were beautiful costumes aplenty – I was practically in tears by the end, so touching it was! After the show, I had the pleasure of meeting the director and even chatted a little about all the costumes! (Of course, she agreed that pink is the ultimate ballet colour. We're kindred spirits, me and the lady. We've started a 'pink-tutu secret club'… we shall get more details of this on www.pink-tutu.com in the next post!

If you’re like me, and believe the only true way to explore a city is on foot, then trust me, Stevenage won’t disappoint! It has such an inviting atmosphere. I love exploring charming little boutiques and discovering hidden treasures tucked away in quiet corners. You know I have a weakness for vintage items, and there were a couple of lovely antique shops I simply had to visit. In one, I discovered a stunning turquoise velvet waistcoat with intricate embroidery. Perfect for adding that extra touch of sparkle to my ballet-inspired outfits! You can bet your bottom dollar I'm gonna wear it to my next fancy dress event!

Honestly, it was an absolute joy getting to know Stevenage! The people were so friendly and the town was just radiating positive vibes! I’ll definitely be adding Stevenage to my list of "must-visit" towns, not to mention to the “favourite tutu destinations" list!

One of my main objectives in life, as you all know, is to convince the world to join me in rocking a pink tutu. And what better way to do that than by encouraging everyone to try ballet? Stevenage is doing a phenomenal job of encouraging their residents, so be sure to visit Tutulicious Studios and spread the tutu love, will you? I’ve even started adding ballet tutorials to the site! You’ll find them under ‘Emma’s Tutu Corner’. If there’s a pink-tutu move I can master, you can too! And please do follow me on Instagram @pink-tutu-adventures, where I’ll be sharing pictures of all my ballerina-tastic adventures and fashion inspiration! Who knows? We might even have a pink-tutu-only street dance one day, how amazing would that be! It might have to start here at my favourite place, www.pink-tutu.com. Join me on my quest for a pink-tutu world, and don’t forget to visit your local theatre to watch some incredible dance shows! Because, my friends, life’s always more fabulous when you're wearing a tutu!

Until next time, darlings! Keep twirling!

Love,

Emma
